Wild Honey Brings BBQ, Bourbon, & More to Atlantic City

There’s a new restaurant at the Tropicana Atlantic City. Wild Honey Smokehouse and Tavern serves regional BBQ and American comfort food, along with bourbon and beer. Featuring Texas-sized drinks and double-barrel smoked cocktails, this spot serves lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch.

The 4,000-square foot Wild Honey Steakhouse and Tavern currently seats 130 guests, with an indoor patio coming soon. “It’s fun, energetic, and approachable,” says Tom Recine, founder of Recine Hospitality and principal and operating partner of Wild Honey. Tom has more than 20 years of experience running bars, restaurants, hotels, resorts, and casinos.

A Cross-Country Menu

Meanwhile, the culinary team’s menu showcases BBQ from Texas to North Carolina after traveling across the country; their goal is to combine all the best BBQ from every region under one roof. Wild Honey pairs each cut of meat with just the right rub, wood, smoke, sauce, and cooking technique; then slow cooks and smokes each one in-house. The menu also boasts American comfort foods ranging from double sauced mac and cheese to burgers, sandwiches, and turkey legs. (In particular, they serve a 2-pound Texas fair turkey leg.)

Mac and Cheese Burger

They offer starters such as Street Fair Corn on the Cob and a BBQ tater tot nacho platter. Likewise, entrees consist of options like St. Louis ribs, Charlotte NC-style pulled pork, and Memphis-rub half chicken; as well as the fan-favorite according to Tom, the Big West Texas beef rib. Just remember to save room for desserts, including the Hot Tin roof sundae; with vanilla ice cream, toasted peanuts, hot fudge sauce, and whipped cream. Sunday brunch is coming soon as well, Tim says.

Drinks, Music, & More

The smokehouse theme is felt at the bar, too. In particular, groups love the 100-ounce party pitchers like Pineapple Whiskey Smash; a mix of whiskey, pineapple juice, sparkling lemon and lime, and fresh mint. Other fan favorite cocktails at Wild Honey Smokehouse and Tavern include the Jack Honey Arnold Palmer and Hibiscus Margarita. The latter includes tequila, hibiscus, orange liqueur, and lime. Their extensive drink menu also offers tequilas, whiskies, bourbon, scotch, draft mugs, and bottled beers.

Chicken Strips

Live music is also a staple at Wild Honey. The restaurant frequently plays host to local artists, touring musicians, and bands from across the country of all genres/styles.
