Tramonto’s Pizza Brings Brooklyn Style Pies to Ocean

There can never be too many pizzerias in New Jersey. But Tramonto’s Pizza in Ocean Township in particular stands out for their selection of pies and daily off-menu specials. The restaurant offers light & airy deep dish pies as well as thin crust, crispy Italian Brooklyn style pizza.

The Deep dish pan pizzas are already a hit. “We took a lot of time to perfect the craft of deep-rising crust in a pan; and we’re beyond proud of the product we have developed,” says Co-owner Teddy Megaris. He and his wife Leanna own and operate Tramonto’s Pizza. Their deep dish pies have a light and airy center with a crunchy bottom.

Menu Highlights

Besides pizza, they marinate and freshly bake their bone-in wings on premises, then flash fry them to order. Tramonto’s Pizza also makes homemade buffalo, garlic Parmesan, sweet sticky Thai, teriyaki, and mango habanero sauces.

Other outside-the-box menu options include their unique panko fried pasta blocks. This dish takes over-sized cuts of specialty pasta filling, then rolls and deep fries them in Panko breadcrumbs. Flavors include penne vodka, mac and cheese, fettuccine Alfredo, and Bolognese, and each comes with a dip. On the healthier side, they also serve grilled chicken rice bowls. These bowls come in chipotle, teriyaki, Buffalo, Greek, BBQ, or house garlic style.

Meanwhile, their mouthwatering dessert menu features cannolis, zeppoles, s’mores empanadas, and Funnel cake fries with a Nutella dipping sauce.

Interestingly, Leanna’s favorite dish at Tramonto’s Pizza is the harvest salad. The salad tops mixed greens with cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, apples, dried cranberries, glazed pecans, and gorgonzola crumbles. But her favorite pizza is the penne vodka burrata deep dish. Likewise, Teddy loves the Detroit Hot Honey Roni made with a 10-by-8-inch crispy cheese crust. This pie is topped with pepperoni cups, mozzarella, ricotta, pecorini, basil, and a hot honey drizzle.

About The Business

Leanna says Tramonto’s Pizza serves the finest, freshest products on the market. “We don’t believe in skimping on the quality of our products or the quantity of our servings. Big, filling portions run in our blood,” she says, in reference to their Italian and Greek backgrounds.

The 2,000-square foot restaurant currently has 16 seats indoors for quick service. However, future plans include a full-service, sit-down dining room with an expanded menu. They also have space for eight outside their storefront, and hope to expand outdoor dining with a back patio.

Teddy and Leanna live in town. In fact, their family owns and operates The Sunset Diner Family Restaurant adjacent to Tramonto’s Pizza. Teddy grew up in the restaurant industry, working in the family diner at 10 years old. He’s been learning the restaurant business ever since. Meanwhile, Leanna has been in the service industry since she was a teenager. She also has a background in real estate management.
