The Best of: Reef-A-Palooza

During the last weekend in June, Reef-A-Palooza took over the Meadowlands Expo Center for two days of underwater fun. Reef-A-Palooza is America’s largest saltwater aquarium show. The event provides aquarium hobbyists the opportunity to meet, teach, and learn from experts and professionals.

Each of their offerings showcase a wide variety of saltwater fish, coral colonies, coral frags, and tropical fish; as well as reef-keeping supplies and state-of-the-art technology to help aquariums operate at full capacity.

Coast to Coast

Reef-A-Palooza started on the West Coast, but travels out to the East Coast a couple times every year for the countless fish fans on this side of the country. Anything you could possibly need for water-based pets, from live coral and gourmet fish food to high-tech lighting fixtures and equipment, this show has.

There is really no other event like this in the Tri-state area, so it’s not surprising that many fans travel from hours away to purchase top-of-the-line gear, sample exclusive products and interact with their peers.

Learning From The Best

According to their website, Reef-A-Palooza’s main goal is “to educate and enlighten the public with the latest knowledge in marine animal husbandry skills and environmental responsibility.”

But it’s not until you actually attend the show and immerse yourself in the vibrant culture that you see the necessity of these events. Reef-A-Palooza provides aquarium owners of all skill and knowledge levels with a place to discuss  and learn better care techniques and have a great time.

Reef-A-Palooza travels back to its home state of California on November 19 and 20, then swims to Orlando from May 6 to May 7, 2017, before finally coming back to the Garden State on Saturday, June 24 and Sunday, June 25, 2017. I highly suggest attending the event when it comes back.
