Best for Everyone: Atlantic City Air Show

When: August 17, 11:00 am to 3:00 pm
Where: 2300 Boardwalk, Atlantic City
Description: Look to the sky for high-flying thrills as the popular Atlantic City Air Show returns this summer, featuring the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and the U. S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team as they take flight over the beach and boardwalk. As a bonus, fans can catch the airshow practicing over the beach on Tuesday, August 16 between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm. There is also a parade to kick off the event on Monday, August 15 at 6:30 pm, starting at New Jersey Avenue then heading south towards Hartford Avenue.

Best for Lunch: The White House Sub Shop

Description: For the best sandwich at the shore, you must stop by this iconic, family-owned sub shop. Pictures of famous fans cover the walls of the popular 70-year-old eatery where Frank Sinatra, the Beatles, and Joe DiMaggio once headed for mouth-watering hoagies. Don’t let the long lines fool you; the wait is quick and well worth it for the popular “Regular Italian” or insanely delicious meatball submarine. They even claim to have a cheesesteak far better than anything you could ever get in Philly. Now that’s something to chew on!

Best for Dinner: Dock’s Oyster House

Address: 2405 Atlantic Ave, Atlantic City
Description: Seafood lovers won’t mind shelling out a little extra to dine at this elegant eatery. Established in 1897, the restaurant recently reopened on June 1 after an expansion and complete renovation of the dining room and kitchen. What remains the same are the incredible menu items, including the Pecan Crusted Salmon, Soft-shell crabs, fresh lobster and, of course, a wide variety of oysters. Be sure to start with the Clams Casino, odds are you won’t be disappointed!

The Best Tourist Attraction


Absecon Lighthouse

Atlantic CityAddress: 31 S Rhode Island Ave, Atlantic City
Description: You won’t want to miss a trip to New Jersey’s tallest lighthouse. At 171 feet, it is also the third tallest in the country. The historic Absecon Lighthouse offers visitors spectacular views of the city skyline and the Atlantic Ocean. There is also an amazing replica of the head keeper’s dwelling, a free museum, and a gift shop. It’s a good 228 steps to reach the top, and short walking distance from the Atlantic City History Museum.
