Giorgio’s Italian & French Pastry Shop

Where: 112 Washington Street, Hoboken
Gourmet Treat: Cannoli
Details: There’s always a debate among cannoli enthusiasts on who has the best in the state. For more than 35 years, Giorgio Pasticceria Italian Bakery in Hoboken has been winning crowds over with their better-than-Nonna’s homemade treats; but nothing beats the Sicilian-style cannoli. They come in a variety of flavors, but chocolate dipped is always a fan favorite.
Why I like it: Pick up your pastry and enjoy it while strolling downtown Hoboken, a great spot for people-watching.
More Info: No website (they’re that old school) but you can click here to call.

Jersey S’more Company

Where: 16 Jefferson Court, Montville
Gourmet Treat: S’mores (of course)
Details: The Jersey S’more Company in Montville is all about s’mores. First, each handmade s’more begins with a top-secret cookie batter recipe. Then they add the highest quality marshmallow. Finally, they smother the treat in velvety milk, dark, or white chocolate. But there’s more, because they also have great toppings; crushed candies, sweet ‘n’ salty pretzel, toasted coconut, sea salt caramel, peppermint dust, and rainbow sprinkles are just a few examples! The choices are nearly endless.
Why I like it: When the entire menu is all about s’mores, you can expect perfection. Share the love by picking up a large S’monster S’more to thank a teacher or coach for their hard work.

Montclair Bread Company

Where: 113 Walnut Street, Montclair
Gourmet Treat: Maple Bacon Donut
Details: Montclair Bread Company’s donut tower, with mini donuts and donut holes stacked up high, is something of a legend. Even more of a legend is their maple bacon donut. Maple-flavored dough is fried up to puffy perfection and then glazed with more maple and strips of maple bacon for a sweet and salty treat that you won’t soon forget. Have your own idea for a great donut? They can make any flavor and color combo you can come up with. (Such as the now classic Fruity Pebbles donut.)
Why I like it: Having a birthday party? Order a 10” speciality giant donut that will delight your guests!

Jammin’ Crepes

Seasonal flavors like coconut maple rum and bourbon apple cider with pecans sell out fast, so get there early.

Details: The creations here are truly a work of art. Cakes, cupcakes, and donuts, as well as cannolis and more, are all available to satisfy your sweet tooth. However, if you’re a s’mores lover, you’ll want to order the Toasty Campfire Donut. For starters, they dip a plain donut in chocolate icing; then they top it with graham cracker crumbs, chocolate drizzle, marshmallow drizzle, and a torched marshmallow for good measure.
Why I like it: As the name implies, The O.G. Creamery is also an ice cream shop. Their newest flavor, Coconut Almond Joy, is coconut-flavored ice cream with chunks of coconut, chocolate, and almonds.
