"Meet" Bergen County's New Meals on Wheels

The Bergen County Division of Senior Services’ Meals on Wheels program aims to deliver nutritional meals to those unable to leave their homes or unable to shop and cook for themselves. This morning, they were gifted with a new meal delivery vehicle from Caesars Foundation, Caesars, Bally’s and Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City.
The vehicle was presented at a special ceremony held at One Bergen County Plaza in Hackensack. President of Caesars and Bally’s Atlantic City Kevin Ortzman was on hand, as was President and CEO of Meals on Wheels America Ellie Hollander. Also present were several representatives of the Bergen County Division of Senior Services, and New Jersey State Senator Paul A. Sarlo.
According to a statement from the event, the vehicle will enable an additional 10,000 meals per month to be distributed to Bergen County’s older adult population. The donation is part of over $5 million spent by the Caesars Foundation in an effort to end hunger among older individuals. Over the past 14 years, the Caesars Foundation has gifted 57 vehicles to Meals on Wheels programs in 18 states.
