Somerville's Summer Stage Rocks Main Street

Families and couples flock to downtown Somerville’s cultured Main Street every day for a variety of reasons. For most, it’s to grab a bite to eat at one of the many elegant restaurants, the chance to browse through antique and specialty shops or to enjoy one of the exciting weekly events. This summer, the borough is offering visitors free weekly concerts every Saturday evening.

Dubbed “Downtown Somerville’s Summer Stage,” the concert series kicked off on July 16 at 7:00 pm and featured The Strictly ‘60s Band from Jackson, New Jersey. The band played a wide range of tunes “strictly” from the Seismic Sixties. People quickly gathered and took seats in front of the stage on Division Street. The pedestrian street is governed by shops and cafés with cozy outdoor seating, so folks could grab some food or coffee and dessert during the performance.
