Experience the Seaside Heights Polar Bear Plunge

The phrase “come on in, the water’s fine!” may not have been heard much this weekend, but that didn’t stop more than 6,000 people from rushing into frigid waters for a good cause. The reason? This year’s Polar Bear Plunge at Seaside Heights. The Polar Bear Plunge is a event that takes place during the Winter, as participants jump in a cold body of water to raise money for charity.

This past weekend, the Seaside Heights Polar Bear Plunge raised money for the Special Olympics, which provides free year-round sports training and athletic competition in 24 Olympic-type sports for people with disabilities. By the end of the Plunge, the event managed to raise ~$1.7 million. Of course, one other great part about the plunge is the photos friends post on social media. So be sure to search #polarplunge for the latest pics and more.
