The women’s hair salon is an important institution within any community. That’s why Cee Ruzzielle, co-owner of Mane.Lobby in Caldwell, opened her business alongside husband Jason Wills. Her ultimate goal is to provide a modern salon experience that evokes the charm of yesteryear. A place women can’t wait to visit, just like a good friend.
“Back in the day, salons used to be a safe haven for women,” Cee says. “A place where they felt relaxed and safe to share their weekly routines and secrets with their hairstylist or peers.”

It’s Kind of a Long Story
But the journey to opening Mane.Lobby wasn’t exactly a straight line for Cee. In fact she started off in nursing school, an endeavor she now calls “an epic fail.” After deciding on a more creative path, Cee enrolled in the Fashion Institute of Technology to become a wardrobe stylist.
She soon found herself working as a stylist on the set of a M.A.C. makeup event. This led Ruzzielle to her true passion, hair and makeup. She went on to graduate from the Parisian Beauty Academy before training under the top hairstylists in Hoboken and Edgewater. Along the way, Cee built up a loyal client base. Finally, Cee felt ready to open her own salon.
Mane.Lobby is a 1,600-square foot, open-concept salon with a minimalist design and warm, beachy vibes throughout. The atmosphere is meant to match Cee’s island roots. The full-service salon caters to all types of hair; services include haircuts, various systems of hair coloring, extensions installation, and much more. Popular services include hair highlights and lavender oil treatments. They also provide bridal services in their Mane.Lobby Bridal Suite.

“The most rewarding part for me is getting to meet and talk to some astounding people through the years,” Cee adds. “I’m a great listener and people just naturally feel comfortable opening up to me. Hearing their stories brings so many emotions for both the clients and myself. I love the connections I’ve built through the years.”
