NJ’s Best Breast Cancer Awareness Month Events is sponsored by All Women’s Healthcare.
It’s no secret at this point that breast cancer is a nasty disease that affects about one in eight women around the world. More than 200,000 individuals are diagnosed each year in the United States alone. When one woman is diagnosed with the disease, however, many more suffer; family and friends flock to their loved ones in support, but as a community we can do more.
National Breast Cancer Awareness Month was founded in 1985 as a partnership between the American Cancer Society and the pharmaceutical division of Imperial Chemical Industries (now part of AstraZeneca). Since then, breast cancer awareness has been heavily promoted every October, and organizations and individuals throughout the country work to support those battling the disease.

The following events and fundraisers are just a few of the great ways in which New Jerseyans are helping to make a difference for everyone who suffers from this harrowing disease.
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

Details: Each one of these charity walks helps to raise money for the American Cancer Society’s fight against breast cancer. Before and after the walks, survivors speak about their experiences with the disease and share advice on how to stay strong. The walks also feature live entertainment for attendees.

David Ezra Salon & Spa Breast Cancer Fundraiser with Wine Tasting

Bras for a Cause

Support Our Girls 5K & 10K – Hope for the Hooters

Details: Join in on the fun by signing up for this virtual run. All you need to do is register. You’ll be sent your bib and it’s up to you when and where you complete the race. The only rule is that you must complete your run during the month of October. In order to help find a cure, 15% of every entry will be donated to Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Sweat Pink
