The Super Pet Expo Trots into New Jersey

This year’s Super Pet Expo takes place at The New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center in Edison. The event unites pet owners and animal lovers for a trip to the “premier shopping extravaganza and animal entertainment destination.” Housing over 150 vendors, the Super Pet Expo aims to offer fun gifts and supplies to buy for four-legged family members and more.
In addition to the numerous pet-related vendors, the expo also features a ton of amusing enterprises and engaging activities for children, families, and other animal lovers; attractions include dock diving by the Ultimate Air Dogs, a puppy playground, a doggie luring course for pups who love to chase, a Parakeet Encounter with more than 100 budgerigar parakeets, and a Best Dressed Pet Competition. Fans of more scaly animals can attend Rizzo’s Reptile Discovery and an Extreme Reptiles Exhibit.
Patrons can also walk through the Rainforest with Lonely Grey Rescue, or listen to Vinneo Reo dispel myths and legends about the “Big Bad Wolf.” Day two of the Expo features Super Dog Nash, an eight-year-old Belgian Malinois who has appeared on ESPN and a number of other television stations, making his Super Bowl predictions. The New Jersey SPCA is also attending the event, offering low-cost micro-chipping and vaccinations for pets.

The Super Pet Expo is the largest gathering of pet owners in the Tri-state area. The show promotes responsible pet ownership and also offers pet adoption opportunities. According to their press release, “No other event in the New York Metro area delivers more animal education and entertainment under one roof.”
The Super Pet Expo runs from February 5-7. On Friday the 5th, it is open to the public from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Saturday hours are 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, and the final day of the show on Sunday lasts from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Admission costs $13 for adults and $8 for children (ages four to twelve), while kids three and younger get in for free. For attendees looking to avoid the line during the Expo, tickets are also available online. Leashed pets are welcome, but retractable leashes are not allowed.
