Super Pet Expo: The Perfect Place for Pets and Parents

Every pet “owner” knows that you don’t actually own an animal; he or she becomes a part of the family. For those who sought to spoil their little (or big) non-human family members this weekend, there was no better place in New Jersey than the 2016 Super Pet Expo.

From February 5-7, the entire New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center in Edison was literally crawling with animals. The expo is designed to appeal to animal lovers, pet owners, and of course the pets themselves, and as such is jam-packed with fun and educational activities. Expo-goers who brought their dogs could let them have fun playing in the Puppy Playground, while children could enjoy the moon-bounce or roll down a giant inflatable slide. Patrons had photos taken of their dogs and cats, and some even posed for a charming caricature with them.

Outside of traditional cat and dog activities, there was a reptile exhibit for those daring enough to get up close, and a Parakeet Encounter where you could physically interact with numerous birds. There was also an opportunity for guests to interact with a baby alligator (under close supervision from the handler).

A Super Expo for Super Pets

The Super Pet Expo also offered a number of opportunities for guests to adopt dogs or cats. Several stands were dedicated to finding the adorable canines and felines loving homes, and by the event’s final day, many had.

Of course, the expo also welcomed over 150 vendors, selling everything from dog collars and leashes to healthy treats. Vendors traveled from all across the country to attend and supply the people who attended with their many goodies. Aside from the animal products, there were also treats for humans as well; a number of vendors offered products like seafood snacks, chocolates, and even wine. Some others sold cotton candy and fried-Oreos, too.

The Super Pet Expo promotes keeping pets active, healthy, and safe. It advocates educating pet parents about animals and pet-ownership. Throughout the event’s 3-day weekend, the expo provided a number of opportunities for pet owners to learn about proper care for their companions. If you didn’t attend this year, be sure to keep a lookout online for future expos.
