Everyone wants to have great photos. Whether they are for hanging around the home, or to score some likes on Instagram, great photos are forever. But in many cases, the high cost of a professional photographer can be a deterrent, especially for smaller shoots. That’s where Shoott comes in, a low-cost photographer-on-demand service.
Shoott offers free, 30-minute sessions with a vetted professional photographer from within local communities. These photo sessions are offered at parks and other scenic hotspots around the state. They do these sessions on weekends, with timeslots available throughout the day. After the shoot, customers receive 40-plus high-res, lightly edited photos within 3 to 5 days. Patrons only pay for the photos they wish to keep (or can opt to purchase the whole gallery).

“Photographers typically require upfront payment and sometimes limited photo selection,” says Jennifer Tsay, CEO and co-founder of Shoott. “We’re proud to provide a service that puts the onus on us to deliver quality before clients make a purchase.”
Shoott only works with a select number of curated photographers. In fact, they only select the top 2-5% of applicants. “Our photographers are local professionals who have been vigorously vetted for technical skills, experience, and personality,” Tsay says. As a result, Shoott removes the customer pain point of searching for a high quality, local photographer. “It’s deeply important that our photographers not only capture each client’s best angles, but also provide an amazing experience; where clients can relax and have fun for their photos (which then typically yields the best shots!)”
At the moment, Shoott offers 40 NJ-based photo session locations; these include scenic spots in Jersey City, downtown Ridgewood, the Port Imperial Waterfront, Hoboken’s Pier A, and more. “Our NJ locations constantly remind me of how beautiful and geographically rich the state really is. (I live here, so it’s not a hard sell,)” Tsay says. In particular, her favorite locales include Verona Park, Allaire State Park, and Watching Lake Park; as well as the waterfront locations with Manhattan skyline views in Jersey City, Hoboken, and Weehawken/West New York.

Shoott offers individual photos for $30 each. They also offer packages, such as a $15 per photo package of 10+ photos, plus one retouched photo. Otherwise, customers can purchase their full gallery, plus two retouched photos for $295. Photo retouching and re-editing services are also available.
For anyone looking for custom photo sessions at the time and location of their choosing, Shoott accommodates this, too. Custom sessions require upfront payment starting at $300. Session styles include family portraits, maternity, milestone birthdays, engagements, personal branding, graduations, and more.
In addition, Shoott is partnering with Shutterfly for a limited time offer. From now through June 2022, all full gallery purchases also include a complimentary prints package from Shutterfly. (A value of $31.88.) Shoott customers can also add-on Shutterfly card bundles at checkout, great for invitations, special announcements, and more.
