New Jersey boasts many great farms where you can choose the perfect tree to showcase in your house this season.

Bear Swamp Farm

Address: 81 Otterhole Road, West Milford
Details: Cut your own Christmas tree or purchase a pre-cut Douglas Fir at this 10-acre organic farm. The options available for cutting include White Pine, Scotch Pine, Blue Spruce, White Spruce, Balsam Fir, and Norway Spruce. Stop by their shop for crafts and gifts from local artisans, as well as handmade jewelry and ornaments. They also serve baked goods and hot chocolate.
Why I like it: Farm managers Roger Knight and Allison Hosford are all about organic farming and preserving open spaces. After you pick up your tree, visit their other business, Two Pond Farm, right down the road.

Beaverbrook Tree Farm

Address: 125 Hampton House Road, Newton
Details: Only 500 trees are available for purchase this season, so hurry on over to Beaverbrook! Norway Spruce and Douglas Fir, as well as White and Blue Spruce trees are on sale for a flat $60. (All sizes.)
Why I like it: The farm donates 10% of all proceeds to the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation; an educational fund for kids who lose a parent serving in the Marine Corps or any Federal Law Enforcement Agency.

Fairview Farm Christmas Trees

Address: 98 East Mill Road, Long Valley
Details: Find your ideal tree at this pick-your-own family farm with over 6000 trees on 115 rolling acres. Once you select the perfect tree ($85 each, cash or check only), Fairview’s team will do the rest; they chop it down, wrap it up, and carry it to your car. In addition, their diverse selection includes Fraser Fir, Canaan Fir, Balsam Fir, and Concolor Fir trees.
Why I like it: Every tree grown here is free of insecticides and pesticides.

Sunset Christmas Tree Farm

Address: 21 Frontage Road, Blairstown
Details: This 25-acre farm provides the saw and lets you cut down the tree. Choose from Blue Spruce, Norway Spruce, Concolor Fir, Douglas Fir, or Fraser Fir, with hundreds of trees to choose from. Volunteers from the Search and Rescue Team of Warren County will help shake, bail, and tie your tree for tips.
Why I like it: Sunset Christmas Tree Farm is open seven days a week.

Wyckoff’s Christmas Tree Farm

Address: 249 County Road 519 (Mile Marker 39), Belvidere
Details: Over 5000 Christmas trees are available at Wyckoff’s Christmas Tree Farm. This 170-acre farm offers both cut-your-own trees, as well as fresh pre-cut varieties. They sell Douglas Firs, Blue Spruces, Concolor Firs, Fraser Firs, and Norway Spruces. All cut-your-own trees are $10 per foot, with colored trees costing an extra $4 per foot. You can also grab fresh wreaths, white pine roping, and more here.
Why I like it: The tradition of parking lot tailgating at Wyckoff’s. This area allows families to sit and chat with their parking neighbors during the Christmas tree shopping experience. (However, this won’t happen for 2020.)

Barclay’s Christmas Tree Farm

Address: 35 Orchardside Drive, Cranbury
Details: This choose-and-cut, family-owned and operated farm has been in business for more than 45 years. Saws are available for cutting the tree yourself or they’ll cut it down for you. In fact, this is a full-service operation; Barclay’s helps transport your tree from the fields, shape the trunk to fit your stand, net, and secure your tree. Trees up to 12 feet are $65, while trees over 12 feet are $120.
Why I like it: They also sell tree stands, tree disposal bags, and Watering Elves; the latter are tree-watering funnels so you don’t need to crawl under the tree to water it.

Charlie Brown’s Christmas Tree Farm

Address: 231 Adamic Hill Road, Milford
Details: Take a wagon ride through the farm and choose your own Douglas Fir from their large selection. After cutting your tree, return to the baling area where the gang will assist you in loading it up. This farm surrounds the Volendam Windmill, a six-story attraction built by members of the farm’s family. They also feature wreaths, grave blankets, and brush for making your own decorations.
Why I like it: You may think the farm was named for the iconic character, but you’d be wrong; in fact, it’s owned by a pair of brothers named Charlie and Randy Brown!

Cherryville Farms

Address: 352 Quakertown Road, Pittstown
Details: Family-owned and operated, Cherryville Farms offers five species of trees all grown in a variety of trimming styles. Choose your perfect tree from Blue Spruce, Norway Spruce, Canaan Fir, Concolor Fir, or Douglas Fir; then you can cut it down yourself or they’ll happily cut it for you. Cherryville also sells wreaths, crafts, and refreshments, as well as wagon rides for the whole family.
Why I like it: If kids find any elves hidden on the property, they get a candy cane.

Lazy Susan Tree Farm

Address: 184 Sharon Road, Robbinsville
Details: Whether you want to cut your own or simply choose a pre-cut tree, Lazy Susan can help. They offer Douglas Fir, Balsam Fir, and Concolor Fir trees. You can also enjoy a free hot chocolate and candy cane as you browse the selection.
Why I like it: Santa Claus will be at the farm on December 5, 6, 12, and 13. Stop by between Noon and 5:00 pm to take a picture with him.

Wolgast Tree Farm

Address: 176 Bennetts Road, Somerset
Details: All five Christmas tree varieties — White Pine, Norway Spruce, Canaan Fir, Scotch Pine and Douglas Fir — cost $50; no matter the size. You’ll also find grave blankets, tree stands, Jersey-fresh honey, and beeswax products for sale at Wolgast.
Why I like it: It’s run by Former Rutgers’ Wildlife Management Professor Len Wolgast and his wife Cindy; in addition, they grow their trees using sustainable and watershed-friendly farming practices.

Anne Ellen Christmas Tree Farm

Address: 114 Daum Road, Manalapan
Details: You can either cut your own tree or have Anne Ellen cut it for you. Field-grown trees are $70 and up, whereas pre-cut options start at $60. You’ll also find freshly-made wreaths, grave blankets, and full-size grave covers. You can also visit the gift shop or enjoy treats from the food vendor on weekends. Meanwhile, you can mingle with the farm animals and even feed the sheep and goats.
Why I like it: Santa will be on site every Saturday and Sunday in December.

Eisele’s Christmas Tree Farm

Address: 280 Old Tuckahoe Road, Petersburg
Details: This tree farm — around since 1972 — has about 8,000 trees across about 8 acres. The three species of Christmas trees they sell are Douglas Fir, White Fir, and White Pine. Once you choose a tree, they will cut it for you. You can either have it dug for an extra fee or dig it yourself for no extra charge. Eisele’s also sells wreaths, swages, and grave blankets.
Why I like it: The three species sold here retain their needles for a long time after being cut; which means less mess in your home.

Keris Tree Farm & Christmas Shop

Address: 848 Route 524, Allentown
Details: This third-generation family farm offers a number of local tree varieties; such as Douglas Fir, Blue Spruce, White Pine, Concolor Fir, Norway Spruce. Pre-cut North Carolina Fraser Firs are also available, as well as wreaths and roping. Their Christmas shop features a wide array of gifts, including handmade ornaments, artisan crafts, balsam pillows, and more. (However, it is not open this year.)
Why I like it: They let you tag trees beforehand to pick up when you’re ready.

Picea Acres

Address: 50 South New Prospect Road, Jackson Township
Details: The farm replaces every tree cut at Picea Acres, plus you’re given a baby tree to plant at home. Starting off as a home and a few acres of land, Picea Acres is now a large tree farm. Their tree options include White Spruce, Norway Spruce, Douglas Fir, White Pine, and Serbian Spruce. You’ll also find wreaths, roping, grave blankets, and more.
Why I like it: Well-behaved pets can tag along, which means Fido can help pick your Christmas tree!

White Dog Farms

Address: 552 N. 1st Road, Hammonton
Details: White Dog Farms lets you pick from over 8,000 trees (any size is $55). They are open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The team will also cut, shake, and transport the tree to your car. Meanwhile, you can purchase fresh grave blankets and wreaths here as well.
Why I like it: If you can’t make it on a weekend, they are open by appointment during the week.

Airport Tree Plantation

Address: 2340 Cedar Street, Millville
Details: You can cut your own tree daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm; or grab a pre-cut tree daily until 7:00 pm. Airport Tree Plantation has over 20,000 trees on 40+ acres. All trees are $50, but shaken and baled free of charge. They provide the saws and wagons, but you can also bring your own chainsaw.
Why I like it: You can pay an extra $10 to tag your tree early. If you do, this spot will cut and bag it so it’s ready for pick-up.

Belly Acres Christmas Tree Farm

Address: 665 Royal Avenue, Franklinville
Details: Originally an apple orchard, the family’s sons often got bellyaches from eating too many apples. Their mom would tell them, “Quit your belly aching,” which led to the farm’s name. Now a Christmas Tree farm, they sell all trees for $60 (cash or check only). They primarily offer Douglas Firs, but have a growing collection of Concolor Firs, Fraser Firs, and Blue Spruces as well.
Why I like it: They staff cut down your tree for you, but you can help if you want.

Exley’s Christmas Tree Farm

Address: 1512 Monroeville Road, Monroeville & Recreation Drive, Glassboro
Details: Exley’s Christmas Tree Farm has two locations, but this is more than your average tree farm; for instance, depending on the location, you’ll find hay rides, sleigh rides, and even a Santa Land experience; as well as train displays, train rides, fire pits, scavenger hunts, and more. Wreaths, roping, grave blankets, and custom greenery are also available.
Why I like it: Both locations allow early tree tagging, so head on out and claim your perfect tree.

Spruce Goose Christmas Tree Farm

Address: 194 Bordentown Road, Chesterfield
Details: Many options are available at this tree farm. You can either choose and cut your own field tree (from $55 to $90 depending on height); or select a pre-cut field tree for $50 and up. Meanwhile, premium Fraser Fir trees go for $80 and up. Of course, inside The Spruce Goose Shop you’ll find wreaths, ornaments, decorations, and tree accessories.
Why I like it: On Sunday, November 29 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, Santa is coming; you can take a free, socially-distanced photo with him.

Stimpson’s Tree Farm

Address: 245 Friendship Road, Monroeville
Details: Stimpson’s is open for 2020 at its new, second location only. Choose and cut your own tree, or pick and have the staff cut one down for you.
Why I like it: Their handmade, berry-adorned wreaths will look perfect on your front door.
