Does My Child Need a Sick Day?

When determining whether or not your child is sick enough to stay home, keep in mind that you know him/her best. While the following these general guidelines can help, be sure to consult with a pediatrician any time you suspect your child is ill. Thanks to RWJBarnabas Health for these guidelines below to help decide when children need a sick day.

– A fever over 101° F
– Sore throat with fever, stomach pain, vomiting and/or rash
– Vomiting
– Diarrhea with frequency
– Severe cold and/or cough
– Any time you think your child may have a contagious illness such as the flue or pink eye
