A new waterfront dining destination is open in Jersey City. The Feathered Fox is an upscale steakhouse serving elevated American cuisine, creative takes on classic sushi rolls, seafood, and more. If the name is familiar, the restaurant is a transplant from its original location in Livingston. But now it sits alongside the Morris Canal Basin.
The Feathered Fox — nestled inside Maritime Parc — is open Wednesday through Sunday for dinner, dessert, and Sunday Brunch. (The latter is available from Noon to 4:00 pm every Sunday.) Its sleek and modern interior is accentuated by a lux vibe and the hottest music tracks playing in the background. Meanwhile, the split-level outdoor patio features waterfront views and manicured floral arrangements, with a lower level outdoor bar.

Food with Flair
Their dinner menu prioritizes using the highest-quality ingredients from local purveyors that will please any palate. To start, their raw bar offers a selection of shrimp, oysters, and Hawaiian Kanpachi Crudo alongside their Seafood Plateau. (The Feathered Fox’s take on a Seafood Tower.) As for appetizers, their Broiled Oysters and Spanish Octopus dishes present a unique take on familiar flavors. But one of their most popular menu items is actually a returning favorite from the restaurant’s previous Livingston location: Their signature Mashed Potato Rings. These thick rings come with grainy mustard fondue, and while classified as a “side” are really a meal unto themselves.

Other fan-favorite dishes include the Filet Mignon (with Lobster Tail), and Roasted Chicken. We also recommend the Barnegat Sea Scallops with Poppyseed Spaetzle, oyster mushrooms, spinach, and brown butter vinaigrette. Likewise, standout sushi rolls include the Truffle Scallop Roll, Lover Roll (tuna + spicy tuna) and the signature Foxy Roll. The latter features Miyazaki Wagyu steak, lobster tail tempura, and scallion in a special sauce.
Just be sure to save room for dessert, because every option at The Feathered Fox is a show-stopper. For instance, their Ice Cream Sundae Bar for the table is an Instagram-worthy treat. It features a whopping 14 scoops of ice cream and a ton of fixings including sprinkles, marshmallows, brownie bites, gummy bears, nuts, and more. But their Chocolate Black Out Cake is sure to be a social media darling. With Devil’s Food Cake, Chocolate Espresso Frosting, Dark Chocolate Ganache, and vanilla ice cream, it’s a chocolate lover’s dream.
The Feathered Fox hosts weekly events including Happy Hour from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm Wednesday through Friday. Happy Hour deals include discounted bar bites, $10 cocktails and half off beers on tap, sake, and glasses of wine. In addition, Wednesday evenings are dubbed OBB Nights: Guests can get six oysters, a rotating burger special, fries, and a beer or glass or wine for just $35. All steaks and meats are gluten free, as well as many of their apps, sides, and sushi options. They also offer gluten-free beer.

About The Owner
Chef/Owner Chris Siversen owned the original location in Livingston. He is also co-owner of Maritime Parc, and was able to revive The Feathered Fox concept at the venue. Since attending culinary school in the early 90s, he has gone on to accomplish a number of impressive feats. Not the least of which is cooking for three different presidents (President Bush plural and President Clinton) and Martha Stewart.
As part of Maritime Parc, The Feathered Fox is available to accommodate all sorts of special occasions. The venue itself hosts weddings, corporate events, live music (once even hosting a private One Direction concert), and more.
