Sometimes, a business has to make changes on the fly based on customer habits. In the case of The Beastro in Wallington, patrons wanted more out of the catering and events venue. “We quickly realized people wanted to come to hang out,” says John Thomas, chef and owner. In response, they reopened as a full-service café and dining spot.
Inside, The Beastro offers a “Bauhaus” classic vibe. “I need a simple house style because that is how I treat everyone,” Chef John says. The space holds about 30 indoors and has four seats outside (with more seating coming soon).

American Cuisine with a Street Food Twist
The Beastro serves American food with cultural street food vibes. Popular dishes include the Beastro Burrito (bacon, refried beans, scrambled eggs, three cheese blend, home fries, salsa verde, tortilla wrap); the mas CAPONE Frenchy (cannoli filling, dark chocolate, salted caramel, and berries); as well as the lomo saltado egg rolls, Jersey disco cheesesteak, and chicken cutlet sandwich.
Their eclectic and surprisingly expansive menu has everything from breakfast specials, sandwiches, and egg dishes to wings, burgers, and meatballs. (“Chicken Masala Meatballs”, to be exact.) This includes pasta dishes like “Schmack N Cheese”, “Rigg N Vodka”, and “Sichuan Vato Ramen” (Mexicano style Bolognese).

The Beastro also bakes homemade pastries courtesy of their in-house pastry chef, Chef Mal. Their selection includes an ever-changing menu of cookies, muffins, scones, and croissants of the day.
