The 10 Best
Central Jersey Brunch Spots

Brunch by De Martino

Where: 9 Davenport St, Somerville
Details: This Latin-inspired brunch concept, from the mind of Martino Linares, offers seasonal breakfast and lunch specialties. Everything is a knockout, including shareables like the Chipotle Chicken Empanadas and crispy Salsa Verde Chicken Taquitos. But the Chef’s Signature Tres Leches French Toast steals the show. It features buttery brioche dipped in tres leches batter, served with fresh berries, homemade whipped cream, and a maple drizzle. Heartier options like the Hot Honey Fried Chicken & Waffle or Huevos Rancheros can fuel patrons all day long. Brunch by De Martino is BYOB, and that same sense of creativity carries into the beverage program. One guest favorite is the cold brew finished with housemade vanilla bean cold foam. Signature lattes, mocktails, and seasonal sips like the Red Velvet Espresso Martini add a playful, indulgent touch. Meanwhile, staples such as the Strawberry-Orange Mimosa mocktail round out the experience.

Agave Brunch Tacos

Where: 171 Stanton Rd, Flemington
Details: An authentic Mexican restaurant that specializes in brunch? It’s true, Agave is a Hunterdon County favorite for its fusion of Mexican and Italian flavors alongside innovative brunch options. The gigantic menu covers everything from flat bread pizzas and burgers to wings, calamari, and street corn on the cob. (That’s in addition to Mexican staples like burritos, tacos, quesadillas, and more.) In particular, their sandwiches make for a great mid-day entree. This includes the California (fried or grilled chicken with BLT, onion, avocado, and chipotle mayo); the Fajita Cajun (Cajun steak or chicken with melted mozzarella, sauteed peppers, and onions); and the Mexican Torta (choice of meat with beans, lettuce, tomato, avocado, jalapenos, melted cheese, sour cream, and mayo). Other popular brunch picks include their breakfast burrito, birria tacos, and classic Steak & Eggs. Just don’t leave without ordering the Tres Leches for dessert.

Cranford Station House Breakfast Platter

Where: 7 N Ave E, Cranford
Details: The team behind Cranford Station House loves finding new ways to reinvent brunch. Owner Levanes Bertos and his family provide a welcoming, neighborly atmosphere where regulars and newcomers alike feel like good friends. Every dish is prepared using family recipes updated over time to add creative or modern twists. The menu features familiar staples such as Chicken & Waffles, made with four pieces of bone in, extra crispy fried chicken over a homemade Belgian Waffle. In addition to their regular menu of omelettes, Benedicts, pancakes, waffles, French toast, and Loaded Skillets, Cranford Station House cooks up rotating seasonal specials. Each season introduces 8-10 new limited time menu items, so there’s always a reason to come back. For instance, one standout Spring dish is their Rice Pudding Stuffed French Toast. (Topped with fresh fruit and whipped cream, and sprinkled with cinnamon.)

Clothesline Bacon from Orchard Park by David Burke, one of The Best American Restaurants in New Jersey

Where: 670 Cranbury Rd, East Brunswick
Details: Orchard Park is already a popular spot for daily dinner and Sunday brunch. But it’s gotten even better with their expansive and luxurious outdoor dining experience called Orchard Terrace. This terrace offers world-class al-fresco dining in an airy structure that protects patrons from the elements. (It features an outdoor bar and fire pits for year-round dining.) Their Sunday Brunch menu features appetizers including Seasonal Donuts of the Day, Lobster Dumplings, and Chef Burke’s signature Clothesline Bacon. Meanwhile, popular main dishes include the Short Rib Monte Christo, Oreo Pancakes, and their Titanic French Toast. The latter is topped with berry compote, maple mascarpone, and fresh berries. The food menu pairs perfectly with many of their signature brunch cocktails. We recommend the “Lips And Heels”, a Bloody Mary with lemon, bacon, shrimp, chile, and Togarashi. They also have a selection of mocktails including the “Bob Wiley” with apple cider, cinnamon, ginger, and lemon.

Americana Kitchen & Bar

Where: East Windsor
Details: Americana is open for breakfast six days a week, with a dedicated three-course brunch menu on Sundays. Their specialty cocktails include the Lychee Martini, Bloody Mary, and Classic Mimosa. Sunday brunch always starts with house-made breakfast breads, granola, fruit, and Greek yogurt. For an entree, we recommend either the Avocado Toast Platter (with hard boiled eggs and artisan greens salad) or the hearty “Proper Sunday Roast” with prime rib, roasted potatoes and asparagus with horseradish cream.

Chat & Griddle

Where: Kenilworth
Details: Chat & Griddle is a true hidden gem in Union County. This luncheonette-style brunch restaurant does basically zero advertising, and survives solely on word of mouth. But locals love their signature breakfast sandwiches, many of which start with a foundation of Taylor Ham, egg, and cheese. For instance, the Sweet & Salty adds cream cheese and homemade jam. We recommend the French Toasted Taylor Sandwich, with two eggs, Taylor Ham, American cheese, and powdered sugar. (Packed between two slices of French toast.)

Hash House

Where: Lambertville
Details: If you love potatoes, Hash House is the brunch spot for you. Just about everything on the menu comes with a side of hash browns. This includes menu favorites like the Wake ‘N’ Bacon and Avocado Benedict. But there’s more to Hash House than meets the eye. They also serve unique dishes like the Korean BBQ Pork Bowl and Greek Tacos with shredded chicken and Tzatziki. Drink pairings come from their “Boujie” section of the menu, and feature options like the Choco Taco. (Dulce de leche, chocolate syrup, candied peanuts, and liege waffle.)

Maria’s Brunch

Where: Metuchen
Details: 2026 is a big year for Maria’s Brunch. The restaurant recently expanded into a new location, giving them even more room to serve their famous brunch staples. This includes favorites like the Super Chicken Waffle, southern fried chicken with bacon crumbles and scallions served over a waffle. (Along with their signature maple butter syrup.) For a classic brunch that hits all the right notes, order the Metuchen Thrilled Cheese. This grilled sourdough bread is loaded with house shredded cheeses and served with tomato basil soup.

Old Man Rafferty’s

Where: New Brunswick | Hillsborough
Details: The heart of a pub and the chef-driven menu of a restaurant, Old Man Rafferty’s is a gem. Their popular weekend brunch is packed with omelettes and other classics, but it’s their unique offerings that really stand out. For instance, their signature Denver Sandwich features two “omelette-style” eggs with ham, onions, sweet peppers, and three cheese blend; all folded into a Brioche roll with a cheese sauce drizzle. We also recommend the Breakfast Risotto with pancetta bacon, spinach, cheddar, and two poached eggs.

Washington House

Where: Basking Ridge
Details: Washington House is a year-round treat for seasonal specials and limited time menus. For instance, June 2026 introduces their “Tastes of the World Cup” menu, featuring global flavors inspired by World Cup teams. While they don’t have a dedicated brunch menu, the restaurant opens up at 11am six days a week. Their all day menu offers fan favorite cocktails, mocktails, burgers, sandwiches, and entrees that work for any brunch party. We recommend pairing the Blackberry Fields cocktail with the Tuna Sushi Poke Bowl.
