By day, 7 Hawthorne Ave in Park Ridge is home to Pop Empanada, a casual eatery for empanadas and sandwiches. It also serves as the home base for That Pasta Club, which sells small-batch hand-rolled pastas, hosts pasta making classes, and caters special events. But from Thursday – Saturday evenings, the space transforms into a white tablecloth fine dining experience known as That Supper Club.
That Supper Club is a family-run restaurant run by Executive Chef Nicolas Pescatore, his cousin Tommy Greco, and Tommy’s wife Pia. Together, the trio curate an intimate fine dining experience featuring a six-course Michelin-style tasting menu. The flavors fuse American, Italian, and Japanese influences to create a series of dishes that are equally unforgettable and delectable. Reservations are available via OpenTable.

An Unexpected Culinary Masterclass
While the menu changes seasonally to reflect the freshest ingredients available, Chef Pescatore always uses his precise French culinary techniques to meld Southeast Asian flavors into many of his dishes. Previous standouts creations include Black Truffle & Mushroom Arancini, Lobster Cappelletti, Roasted Bone Marrow Deviled Eggs, and Arctic Char Crudo. Another signature dish is the 40-day Dry Aged Filet Mignon, made with housemade Nam Jim kasho.

Throughout the six courses, guests are treated to a number of small plates. The evening begins with appetizers and salad, then proceeds to an entree, and ends with dessert. Entrees usually include at least one pasta dish, allowing Chef Pescatore to show off That Pasta Club’s signature homemade namesake. One most recent seasonal dessert features Warm Chocolate Mousse with butter-rum pound cake, cocoa crumble, and sea salt.
A Communal Fine Dining Experience
Another thing that makes That Supper Club unique is the single seating time per evening. Guests must make a reservation and all arrive at the same time. Once seated, everyone receives their meals at the same time; creating a communal experience despite eating at separate tables. This approach allows diners to experience dishes simultaneously, and encourages socialization and discussion about each new plate.
Throughout the evening, Tommy introduces each dish and visits each table, giving That Supper Club a true family feel. By the end of the evening, guests have made new friends, learned a little about exotic cuisine, and eaten a truly memorable meal.

That Supper Club is BYOB, and seating is typically $95 per person. Guests can review the current menu online if they want to find a specific wine to pair with their dinner. Meanwhile, That Pasta Club offers pastas and sauces available for purchase online. This includes signature homemade sauces such as Short Rib Ragu, Spicy Vodka, Bolognese, and Truffle Cacio e Pepe.
