South Jersey Cookie Cakes Bakes Custom Cakes in Westville

The owner of South Jersey Cookie Cakes in Westville, Rachel Tuff, always keeps her customers top of mind. “I want parents that have limited budgets to still be able to give their child a fun cake that doesn’t break the bank. Rachel creates personalized chocolate chip cookie cakes for birthdays and other special events.

“Imagine seeing the face of a birthday boy or girl who opens their cake to see their favorite character, and the relief on the parent’s face when it only costs $40,” she explains. “I never want to lose that.”

Love at First Bite

Rachel’s first job during high school was at Great American Cookies in the Echelon Mall (now Voorhees Town Center). “I absolutely fell in love with the job,” she says. When they closed, she started making cookie cakes on her own. Since then, the Bellmawr native has been making cookie cakes for family and friends.

As her cakes became more popular, Rachel decided to turn her passion into a full-time business. “There aren’t a lot of options out there. That’s why I think this ended up so successful.” She further explains that “Custom cookie cakes are a fun and affordable alternative to classic bakery cakes. I love when adults get to feel like a big kid again when they order a silly cookie cake.”

Eagles Cake

The 16-inch custom art cookie cakes are the most popular item at South Jersey Cookie Cakes. (Patrons must order ahead to receive one.) However, they also have in store grab-n-go items like the fan favorite cookie sandwiches (icing between two cookies). Future plans include offering gluten-free items as well.

Rachel prides herself on her consistency. “My cakes are always soft, fresh, and the icing is unmatched.” She’s also a design perfectionist who thrives on creative freedom. “You can always tell the love I put into my designs. The art and creative freedom is my absolute favorite part of what I do. People often wait past their scheduled pickup times simply because I won’t hand over a cake until it’s perfect.”

South Jersey Cookie Cakes is a “kid-friendly and crafty” spot . “The store has coloring, video games, books, etc.,” Rachel says. “It’s a place kids want to come to.”
