Muteki Ramen Brings Udon Noodles to Hoboken & Jersey City

Locals to the Hoboken area are likely already familiar with Muteki Ramen. Since opening, the restaurant’s popularity continues to grow, expanding into Jersey City and introducing fresh Udon Noodles to the menu. Now, the ramen shop has even expanded beyond New Jersey.

After bringing Muteki Ramen to Hoboken and Jersey City, the owners opened Muteki Udon in Brooklyn. The New York location focuses exclusively on Udon dishes. But because of their immediate popularity, the team now offers a number of fresh Udon dishes in Hoboken. (These dishes are not yet available at the Jersey City location.) In fact, the new summer 2024 menu in Hoboken features homemade Udon dishes. “They’re perfect for lighter summer meals,” says owner Jian Wei He. “These dishes will be served both warm and cold, offering a refreshing option during the summer heat.”

Fresh Udon Noodles & More

One of their latest Udon options is Zaru udon. This dish serves cold Japanese Udon noodles with nori, shrimp tempura, vegetable tempura, and oyster tempura alongside tsuyu dipping sauce. Meanwhile, their Beef Sukiyaki Udon is Udon noodles with sukiyaki beef, cold tsuyu, lemon, daikon radish, nori, scallion, ginger, and tempura flakes with a spicy chili crunchy garlic on top. Another option is the Muteki Udon salad. Their salad combines Udon noodles, tofu soboro, wasabi sauce, mushroom mix, spring mix, corn, dried mango, nori, and lotus chips.

As for the restaurant’s namesake, their ramen noodles are made with a savory chicken, pork, or fish-based broth. They also flavor the noodles with soy sauce or miso, and top them with sliced pork, bean sprouts, and scallions. Best sellers include the signature Volcano Miso Ramen and Muteki Ramen. Reminiscent of its name, the Volcano Miso Ramen is wavy noodles in a spicy miso broth. Meanwhile, the signature Muteki Ramen features thin noodles in chicken and pork broth. Future plans include adding a customizable ramen menu, thus allowing customers to create their own ramen dishes from scratch.

However, ramen isn’t the only thing on the menu. Muteki Ramen also serves buns with various fillings. For instance, they serve tempura (fried shrimp and veggies) buns, chasu pork buns, and karrage (juicy fried chicken thighs) buns. The menu also has salads and rice donburi, as well as desserts like cheesecake and mochi ice cream.
