The motto of LaZeez by Dhaba in Parsippany is “It’s all in the taste”. The restaurant aims to use the flavors, spices, and ingredients of Indian street food to create unique menu items. This includes using authentic and traditional spices such as turmeric, tamarind, and various chilis. The end result is Indian fusion cuisine with International flair.
LaZeez by Dhaba is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The 3,100-square foot space fittingly replaces a former Mexican restaurant. Ankush Punhani, CEO of Fine Dining Indian Group, grew up in the area and his parents own Saregama in town. In fact, LaZeez is the ninth restaurant for Punhani and his family. They have five eateries in New York City and four in New Jersey, with plans to open another one soon. However, this Indian fusion restaurant is the group’s first quick-service restaurant.

The Menu & Vibe
The interior of LaZeez features teal blue hues and a young vibe. An open kitchen allows the 83 diners the restaurant can seat to watch their food be freshly prepared. The menu blends traditional Indian street food as well as fusion street food. For instance, they serve build-your-own Indian style pizzas, pastas, tacos, burritos, and rice bowls.
For the pizza, patrons select between a tortilla, thin crust, or personal pie. After that, they select a sauce between desi marinara or makhani. Finally, LaZeez provides a choice of toppings including cheese, mixed veggies, pineapple, and chicken tikka.

So far, popular menu items include momos (steamed or fried dumplings) in varieties like chicken, vegetable, and barbecue. Other fan favorites include vada pav, pav bhaji, and chole bhature (chickpeas made with bhatura bread). LaZeez also makes fresh hand-made traditional Indian sweets and pastries.
Breakfast & Beyond
There are a variety of breakfast items at LaZees as well. They serve mini dosas, chilla-dilla, uttapam, desi style French toast, and build-your-own sandwiches. Meanwhile, lunch options include burgers, subs, and curry bowls. The full dinner menu is also available for lunch. Click here to see the full menu.

Overall, the menu highlights at least one dish from every region of India. This includes North, Northeast, East, West, Central, and South India. Aside from dining in, LaZeez offers build-your-own catering options. Future plans include offering weekly chef specials.
