La Vecchia Napoli Brings Naples to Edgewater

Thirty years ago, parents Tina and Mimmo Barracano and their two children trekked from Napoli across the Hudson River; their intention was to share their culture with the residents of New Jersey and New York. Mimmo briefly worked for a restaurant in the area while Tina spent time in a school cafeteria before opening La Vecchia Napoli in Edgewater in 1990.

Twenty-six years, an expansion, and several make-overs later, La Vecchia Napoli delivers the cozy, inviting atmosphere one would expect from an affluent Southern Italian home.

When you visit La Vecchia Napoli, the staff are just the beginning of your exceptional experience; in the kitchen, Tina and her cooks create mouthwatering, traditional Napolitano dishes for guests. The food is always freshly made-to-order, so as an added bonus, the Specials menu changes twice a week.

From the Fettuccine alla Vecchia Napoli to the special Penne Genovese, or Truffle Porcini Mushroom with homemade pasta; the meals here will keep you chowing down until you can no longer lift your fork. In every flavorful entrée – in particular their stuffed pepper dish with mozzarella cream sauce – uses the freshest ingredients available.
