Chef Steve Kuo has a lot of experience in the restaurant industry (35 years, to be exact). But with the new Kuo Social in Robbinsville, he is finally taking the leap and opening his own space. (Alongside Executive Chef/Partner Yang Huang.) This 8,000-square-foot restaurant and lounge features dramatic lighting and decor.
“It pays homage to 1920s Shanghai chic,” says Kuo. “It’s a modern, vibrant Chinese ambiance. You’ll find a substantial amount of Chinese symbolism throughout the restaurant.”

Upscale Chinese Dining at Kuo Social
Kuo Social offers fancy interpretations of modern Chinese dishes. For instance, you’ll find what Kuo declares “the best Peking duck in New Jersey, New York, and Philadelphia”; they slow roast Long Island duck to a perfect crispy, juicy finish. He also says guests should try the Grand Marnier jumbo shrimp and organic, hormone-free chicken and broccoli. For drink options, the extensive cocktail menu includes Coconut Mai Tais and Ginger Mojitos, as well as Asian Pear Martinis. Click here to see the full menu.
Chef Steve Kuo was born in Philadelphia and attended Pennsylvania State University’s hotel and restaurant management program. He also has training from the Culinary Institute of America, and holds a master’s degree from New York University. His experience includes working with high profile chefs such as Bobby Flay and David Bouley; as well as at Waldorf Astoria, Eleven Madison Park, Buddakan, Nobu, and the Four Seasons Hotel, all in NYC. He’s even worked with the Shangri-La Hotels in China, and he did it all by age 25.
Likewise, Chef Yang Huang was executive chef at Buddakan in New York City; in addition to this, he is a Starr Restaurant group alum of 18 years.
