As the summer season comes barreling closer, there are a number of outdoor events happening in New Jersey. Many of the most notable activities include food festivals, beer festivals and music festivals. One festival in particular, however, includes all three rolled into one. The Just Jersey Food Truck & Music Festival tours the state from May through November, but its next stop arrives in Parsippany on June 17.
Each stop on the festival’s tour benefits different, local organizations, one directly and another through donation collection; the Parsippany Food Truck & Music Festival directly benefits the Morris Rugby Corporation. In addition, the producers behind the event — JMK Events and Arsenal Productions — encourage attendees to bring non-perishable canned or boxed items they are willing to donate to support the Parsippany Food Bank. Comparatively, last month’s kickoff festival in Chester, NJ benefited the Chester First Aid Squad and Chester Food Pantry.

No Frills, Just Jersey
Those attending the Just Jersey Food Truck & Music Festival typically look for three things: Food, music and beer. The Parsippany event is no slouch in any of those three key areas. The affordable admission — tickets are $5 per person and children under 10 get in for free — grants festival-goes access to the Mack-Cali Business Campus where more than 25 food trucks park alongside a Beer & Sangria Garden and live music. Other activities at the event include Sand art, rock wall climbing and face painting.
Some of the standout Food Trucks attending include Cold Stone Creamery Flemington, Coney Island Wood Fired Pizza, Amanda Bananas, The Angry Crab, Bacon Me Crazy, Sauced and Rubbed, Soda City, and Taco Shelly’s. The Beer & Sangria Garden features “Hefeweizen” and “Rake Breaker” courtesy of Jersey Girl Brewing Company; as well as a “Muddy Creek lager” from Defiant Brewing Company and more. The live music schedule spotlights Spinn (alternative country) from 11:00 am – 1:30 pm; then The Nerds (party band) from 1:30 pm – 4:00 pm; and finally closes with Stereo Junkies (variety cover band) from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm.
Of course, there are a few things to keep in mind for the Parsippany Food Truck & Music Festival. For example, they do not allow pets at the event. Additionally, they don’t permit outside food, drinks, coolers, or knapsacks. Attendees can bring their own lawn chairs and blankets, however. (There is no seating at the event.)
