At Gyro Kingdom, guests enjoy quality ingredients and a versatile menu with interchangeable items. Dishes are not only authentic, but truly reflective of the owner’s Greek roots. “The gyro is the star here,” says Owner James Komninakis. He prides himself on not taking any shortcuts when it comes to preparing the popular Greek staple. In particular, Gyro Kingdom marinates their meats overnight and grills them fresh each day. These meats are even displayed on the rotisserie behind the counter for customers to see.

A Menu of Greek Favorites
Gyros are available in two or three-meat combinations with a selection of toppings like lettuce, cucumbers, or crumbled feta. For the moment, the lamb gyro served on pita bread with tomatoes and red onions is their best seller.
Likewise, they have a number of popular non-Gyro items on the menu. Current fan favorites include the moussaka (traditional Greek casserole) and the grilled octopus (prepared in their secret brine and grilled). Other standouts range from pastichio (Greek lasagna) to the char-grilled lamb chops. For those with dietary restrictions, Gyro Kingdom labels their menu accordingly. Customers can easily tell which items are vegetarian, or which dishes contain nuts or seafood.
About the Owner
James’s family has been in the restaurant industry his whole life. Though he lives in New Jersey, he spent years traveling Greece as a young athlete. Afterwards, he decided to open a restaurant and bring authentic Greek cuisine back home. He also wanted to offer healthy options focused on Mediterranean diet options. If all goes well, he plans to franchise Gyro Kingdom.
