In addition, Dowdell often speaks at major conferences around New York and New Jersey. She even has experience in government, previously serving on several federal, state, and local political campaigns. Now, she’s using this experience to build a strong partnership with the NJEDA to aid small businesses in NJ.

“[The NJEDA] has been rolling out a lot of funding programs to support our small businesses across New Jersey,” says Tara Dowdell. “And they’re focusing on 25 employees or fewer, and they are also prioritizing women-owned businesses, minority-owned businesses, veteran-owned businesses.

“[T]hese programs are designed to really help the businesses who need it the most; who are often locked out of these larger programs at the federal level,” she adds.

Tara Dowdell further explains that these are frequently hardworking businesses and business owners; they are community-first businesses that add value to their area, and even the state. To preserve this value, the NJEDA provides an array of programs to aid these businesses; as well as grant funding and even loan programs.
