Growing up, Parima Ijaz—founder of Pure Purima in Lumberton—knew more about textiles than the average 10-year-old. With her father working as a developer of bedding, she was immersed in textiles industry. But she never thought it would become her passion.
While at Rutgers University, Parima discovered that retailers were marketing and mislabeling products as 100% Egyptian cotton. In truth, they were using the name of Egyptian Cotton to mark up prices on blended-cotton bedding. It was obvious to her a change had to be made.

No Time for Sleep
Coming out of college, Parima wanted to shake up the bedding industry and set a new standard. She founded Pure Parima in 2018 to bring back real luxury bedding with a commitment to transparency. They sell 100% certified Egyptian cotton sheet sets, duvet covers, inserts, and protectors. Soon, they will also carry Egyptian cotton towels and robes, along with other new items.
They use only hand-picked Egyptian cotton straight from the Nile River Valley. “We found a way to bring accessible luxury to our customers who deserve to sleep on the most luxurious bedding; without spending thousands,” Parima says.
In particular, her favorite product is their signature Yalda Sheet Set. “It was our first product that helped grow our brand to where it is now,” she says. “Its silky, soft feel with an elegant but simplistic look has captured the attention of many and is forever in our hearts. Our customers couldn’t believe sheets could be life-changing. But after having slept on Yalda sheets, they cannot go back to anything else.”
Pure Egyptian Cotton from Pure Parima
The Cotton Egypt Association certifies all Pure Parima products for the pureness of its contents and materials. This ensures Parima remains true to her goal, and original promise, of 100% Egyptian cotton products. The association also ensures products are free of harmful chemicals or substances.
