It’s no secret that most shopping is done online nowadays. But sometimes the best experience – especially when it comes to shopping for clothes – is only possible in-person. Fado in Ramsey is there for folks who want to visit a boutique brick-and-mortar.
Fado means destiny/fate in Portuguese. It’s a fitting title, considering how the store came to be. “My co-owner Bridget Zuckerberg has a photo of her family standing outside the vacant storefront,” says Jennifer Orsini. Bridget and her family were attending Ramsey’s Memorial Day Weekend parade in 2019, not realizing what was right behind them. “Little did she know that four years later she and I (her best friend) would be opening a boutique here!”

Fado Offers Curated Clothing, Unique Accessories, & More
Fado customers range in age from 16 to adults in their sixties. The store offers a curated selection of clothing, gifts, and accessories. “We have a clean, fresh aesthetic based on European boutiques,” Bridget says. “We are LA casual meets New York cool.”
Available brands include Citizens of Humanity, AGOLDE, Levi’s, Perfectwhitetee, 525 America, Heartloom, Greylin, and Good American. Perfectwhitetee essentials are extremely popular, especially the brand’s tees and ribbed Blondie tanks. While the selection at Fado rotates, they always carry stock of these items. “We have loved the brand Perfectwhitetee for years,” Jennifer explains. “Our obsession with the brand is half the reason we opened the store!”

Of course, the physical location Fado provides also means in-store-only benefits such as feedback from a passionate salesperson; as well as the ability to wear something immediately after purchase.
About The Owners
Bridget first moved to Ramsey 11 years ago with her husband. They fell in love with the town and love raising their family in Ramsey. “Ramsey has such a vibrant main street,” she says.
Meanwhile, Jennifer and Bridget have been best friends since kindergarten, growing up in Lagrange, New York, just outside Poughkeepsie. Opening a boutique shop is a dream come true for both of them. Jennifer is also an accountant, and Bridget is a former teacher.

Though this is their first experience owning a boutique, they are learning from their mentor, Sasha Micoretti. Sasha owns the original Fado in Katonah, New York, and its second location in Long Island City, Queens. The Ramsey store is the third location of Fado, and the first franchise shop. “We appreciate each and every one of our customers choosing to shop small and local with us,” Bridget says. “We love our local business neighbors as well. They have all graciously welcomed us to this tight knit community.”
