"Girls’ Night Out" Returns to Downtown Somerville for Second Year

Mark those calendars, because Downtown Somerville is the place to be on May 11! Back for its second year, the “Girls’ Night Out” event invites women to enjoy a night on the town. The Downtown Somerville Alliance (DSA) is hosting the event, with special experiences and deals from more than 35 local businesses.

Activities throughout the night include makeovers, workshops, shopping and dining specials, all with the purchase of one ticket. Attendees begin the night at Downtown Somerville’s Division Street Plaza with a glam bag full of gifts; then take a stroll down the red carpet and pose for professional glamour shots. From there, the options are seemingly endless; mini-makeovers, hair tips and blowouts, psychic readings, limo rides and wine glass painting are just a few of the fun choices available to guests.

Glitz and Glamor

If that’s not enough, DSA is giving away a grand prize – valued at over $1,000 – that includes styling and makeup by The Beauty Bar, a dress from haute-couture designer Jean-Ralph Thurin, six weeks of personalized training from Tatyana’s Fitness and more. Ladies can increase their chances of winning the prize by shopping at the many businesses participating in the event.

When it comes to food, “Girls’ Night Out” isn’t messing around: Local, award-winning restaurants will be serving up options from specialty food and drink menus made specifically with female guests in mind. For dessert, gourmet cupcakes and honey tastings are two of the many treats that will be available.

Advance tickets for the event cost $20 and are available for purchase at participating businesses; these include The Hungry Hound, Gems and Stems, Tatyana’s Fitness, Three Hearts Home, and Saffire Salon. They can also be found online at the Downtown Somerville website. Tickets are limited, and sold relatively quickly last year, but any remaining tickets will be sold on the night of the event for $25.

“Girls’ Night Out” takes place on Thursday, May 11 from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
