Classes are offered in age groups like Twoosy Doodlers (20 months to three), Mini Doodlers (three to five) and Doodlers (six and up). In a Mini Doodlers class, children create their own masterpieces while nurturing skills needed for school like language, listening and direction following. Toddlers in Twoosy Doodlers develop sensory, fine and gross motor skills. They’ll learn about color, texture and more as they play with fun materials.

Details: This Westfield studio offers fun, creative and educational art classes for kids pre-K to 13 years old, as well as teens and adults. Enroll for a minimum of 10 weeks at a time. Kids five to 13 can take a mixed media class to give them a basic understanding of the fundamentals of shape, color, line, texture and form. They’ll create drawing, painting and sculpture projects during the session. Preschoolers ages three to five can take Pre-K Art Making where they’ll draw, paint and do a 3-D art project. Other classes include Just Drawing, Mom & Me Art Making and All 3-D.

Details: Creative Hands has been offering classes in drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics and pottery for over 10 years. Classes are held once a week for one to two hours, depending on the artist’s age, in a continuous nine-week session. Don’t have that kind of time? Sign up for a Saturday afternoon workshop. In the Mommy & Me class for 3 ½ to 4 ½ year olds, you and your little one work together on projects to promote his fine motor skill development while having fun. Kindergarten Kids helps five to six year olds gain confidence as they try new techniques and make artistic choices. Available in packs of five, this pass lets you attend select Picasso and Monet classes, plus drop-in and play sessions throughout the semester. Picasso is a Mommy & Me class for 1.5 to 2.5 year olds. Kids play, experiment and create at five stations such as a sensory box, easel, messy table, play-dough activity and project station, with stations changing weekly.
