Everything True Ascend sells at their jewelry store is from their own brand. This includes water-resistant, stainless-steel jewelry along with their signature Charm Bar. The latter is the star of the show, and allows patrons to personalize their own necklaces, pins, keychains, or bracelets.
Many products available at True Ascend are handpicked in Turkey, which is where the owners’ family is from. Sisters Bilana Uluengin and Diypse Duman are owners/founders of the business, which they settled one for a specific reason. “Charms are timeless because they’re personal,” they explain. “Everyone wants to wear something that represents who they are or reminds them of a special memory.”

Creating Something Special
“Whether it’s an initial, a birthstone, or a symbol that means something deeper, charms let people tell their story in a fun and expressive way,” Bilana and Diypse said. “It’s a little piece of you that you can wear every day. We curate the experience of that journey for our customers to create pieces that last a lifetime.”
True Ascend also hosts private events like birthdays, bridal showers and bachelorette parties. “We have quality products at an affordable price while giving our customers an experience they’ll remember. Everyone that walks into our shop will leave happier than when they walked in, whether they purchase anything or not.”

About True Ascend
Prior to opening their Montclair storefront, True Ascend began as a mobile charm bar. They traveled around the country visiting various vendor and private events. To source their products, Bilana and Diypse would travel to Turkey every summer.
Diypse has a background in finance while Bilana is currently studying business and marketing at Montclair State University. “The most rewarding part of what we do is creating community with our customers through our products and events,” they say. “Whether they’re creating a bracelet for a best friend or we’re joining them for a special day like a bridal shower, we love watching people design something that means something.”

“Montclair has always felt like a natural fit for us,” the sisters add. “It’s creative, community driven, and full of locals that are supportive of small businesses.”
Looking ahead, Bilana and Diypse are focusing on growing their Charm Bar experience through brand collaborations and private events.
