The American Dream is now home to the newest Rowan studio. This popular spot offers ear-piercings by licensed nurses only with hypoallergenic earrings always to children, teens, and adults. Backed by a medical advisory board, Rowan’s team of licensed nurses are trained to pierce all ages – starting at 2 months old with proper DTaP vaccination.

Choosing the Right Piercing Method
There are two different piercing methods available at Rowan: needle and device. The choice of method depends on age, piercing placement, and earring preference. Their licensed nurses will help choose the right method for every piercing.
Needle piercings (for those five years and older) are performed with a single-use, hollow-bore sterilized needle. Once the piercing is complete, a sterile taper is used to gently insert a flat-back earring – designed for comfort and healing – into the piercing site. Rowan recommends needle piercings for various placements on the ear such as conch, helix, forward helix, tragus, flat, and lobe.
Meanwhile, device piercing is hand pressurized and pierces the ear with the earring itself. During this process, the nurse is in complete control; guiding, positioning, and piercing safely by hand. This ensures a gentle, accurate, and safe experience. This method is nothing like a traditional, spring-loaded piercing gun.

When Louisa first started thinking about getting her daughter’s ears pierced, she did what any parent would do: She researched every option available. “But the more I looked, the more uneasy I felt,” she says. “Traditional piercing parlors didn’t feel safe or sanitary enough for a child. Yet the pediatrician’s office, while clinical and sterile, lacked any sense of celebration for what should be a joyful milestone.”
