The owner of Rhythm x Brows Studios in Bayonne, Licensed Esthetician Christelle Rahman, loves playing music during her services. In particular – and not surprisingly – she plays 90s and early 2000s R&B music. The business name came to Christelle in the car one day; she was driving with the radio on and the music display said “Rhythm x Blues.”
Rhythm x Brows is a trendy and unique by-appointment-only studio with a warm, chic, and cozy interior. In fact, Christelle sees clients one at a time. This allows her to connect with clients in a way she normally wouldn’t at a full salon. Clients are free to talk, listen to music, or even nap during their brow session. “It’s not a beauty salon feel where people are just waiting to be seen,” she says. “I open the door and we start chatting right off the bat. It feels like more than just getting your brows done. I make it a whole experience.”

Rhythm x Brows Services
The studio offers a range of services including brow shaping and brow tinting. “It makes you feel more confident and more beautiful,” Christelle says. One popular service is Henna, which stains the skin and brow hairs to give brows a fuller appearance. Brow lamination is also a hit, a chemical treatment that straightens brow hairs to make them feathered and fluffy. “The before and after is amazing.”
Rhythm x Brows also offers facials, and Christelle even has her own skincare line. Future plans include lash tinting and lash lifts; however, Christelle would rather become an expert in a few services than doing multiple services not up to her standards.
Christelle’s favorite part of the job is meeting people. “Everyone does something different,” she says. “I’ve met doctors, teachers, programmers, people in beauty and entertainment. I get a glimpse into everyone else’s life. It gives me an opportunity to hear all these different stories.”
About the Owner
Christelle started in the beauty world at the corporate office of European Wax Center in Miami. But when that office moved out of state, Christelle made a change; she moved to New Jersey to be with her long-distance relationship – and now husband – in Bayonne. Originally doing brows out of her home office in 2020, she was approached to open her own space. Now, Rhythm x Brows is open at Bergen Point Boutique, just a three-minute drive away. “That was where I took a leap of faith. My husband said that sometimes when things land on your lap without you looking for them, that’s the best opportunity.”
