Around the World in Minutes
A quick stroll through Dory’s Mediterranean Goods is all it takes to tour the flavors of the world. For instance, their freezer section has items handpicked from their suppliers. Items include kibbeh, kofta, chicken and beef doner, pork souvlaki kebabs, meat pies, and more. Most are easy meals that are ready in minutes, like their canned vegan stews.
Meanwhile, patrons will find Mediterranean salads, hummus, baba ghanouj, stuffed grape leaves, and more in the grab-and-go fridge. Their menu features a dozen open-faced pita sandwiches that can be ordered either hot or cold. These pitas are made with simple ingredients and stuffed with “out-of-this-world flavors,” according to Christine. Some options are za’atar, ham and cheese, chicken shawarma, and gyro, just to name a few.

About the Business
Dory’s Mediterranean Goods is also a unique spot for gift ideas. The shop has all sorts of imported teas, chocolates, baklavas, and Turkish delights. They even sell hard-to-find spices, marinades, and imported olive oils.
Prior to opening the business, Christine taught in Lebanon. During her time abroad, the culture, customs, and food made a lasting impression on her. As for the business’s namesake, Dory is Christine’s husband and co-owner. He has over 25 years of experience in the hospitality field. Specifically, his hotel and restaurant management experience comes from the Bridgewater Marriott and Marriott Marquis, both in NYC and abroad. The couple also operated Dory’s Mediterranean Grill across town for three years prior to it’s closure.
