The owner of Deeply Rooted in Ridgewood, Lauren Imbruglia, wanted to help her husband breathe better after his Covid bout. She knew that plants bring additional oxygen into the home, so she added more greenery to her living space. But little did she know this would soon lead to a whole new passion and business.
Deeply Rooted aims to bring peace, safety, and wellness to people and inspire them to start and cultivate home sanctuaries. This idea stems from people’s response to Covid, making their homes more livable after spending so much time indoors. Many now view their home as a sanctuary, providing peace and safety which leads to better wellness.

A Deeply Rooted Ideology
Lauren uses her business to help patrons enhance their living space. Deeply Rooted makes homes more serene and healthy through indoor plants, small trees, succulents, and plant care items. They also provide an array of plant-oriented services. Customers can lease plants from them to elevate their business, style their home, or enhance real estate showings. After purchase, the shop can regularly maintain, care for, or swap plants seasonally for customers. Their inventory includes cache pots, planters, and hangers.
For business owners who wish to update their office, Deeply Rooted can create a custom design plan. This design incorporates the client’s desires and preferences, while also considering the office’s space and lighting.
In addition, Deeply Rooted offers repotting services, vacation care, and plant rehabilitation. They are the perfect resource to help beginning planters build confidence, or help seasoned planters fulfill “wish list” plant items. The shop goes so far as to evaluate a home’s lighting and environment to ensure plants thrive with customers.“I love seeing the smiles on our visitors and sharing some insights that help clients become more successful plant parents,” Lauren says.
Future Plans & More
Lauren describes the interior of Deeply Rooted as “a very eclectic vibe. We aimed for a relaxing and a bit whimsical space.” This includes wood, white, and natural tones with punches of black and green.
Deeply Rooted hosts seasonal educational events such as Making a Terrarium and Making a Dish Garden Diva. They also host parties like Build a Fairy Garden, Build a Jurassic Garden, and Build a Troll Garden; as well as Ladies Night Out, Sound Bath, and Pilates n’ Plants. For budding new planters, they offer a Houseplant 101 workshop.
Lauren has lived in Ridgewood for 30 years and raised her three children in town. She taught French at a middle school in Ridgewood for 19 years. “Living in town and teaching here led me to name my business Deeply Rooted; to represent the deep ties I feel to our village.”
