The Cake Boss, aka Buddy Valastro, is teaming up with the Salvation Army to make the holiday season a little brighter. As part of a unique collaboration, all Carlo’s Bakery locations will be carrying a limited edition 7″ Red Velvet Cake. As part of their “Give With Joy” initiative, proceeds from the sale of this cake will be donated to the Salvation Army.
The Give With Joy Red Velvet Cake is available in-store at Carlo’s Bakery locations and online for $29.99. Nationwide shipping is available for online purchases. A Day of Spreading Holiday Cheer
The collaboration — announced during a special event at Buddy’s Cake Factory in Jersey City — included a full day of activities. Those in attendance got to enjoy a medley of Christmas songs performed by the Salvation Army Brass Band before enjoying a tour of the factory, followed by an intimate cupcake decorating demonstration and Q&A with Buddy. Afterwards, Buddy and team rode along with the Salvation Army to their local Jersey City outpost. Upon arrival, Buddy joined the after-school program to decorate holiday treats with children and spread some holiday joy.
“The Holiday Season is about giving back, and nobody does it better than the Salvation Army,” Buddy said during the announcement. “They service more than 28 million people in 7,400 different locations across the US.” This includes donating meals, toys, and other forms of assistance to those in need. As to what brings the Salvation Army and Carlo’s Bakery together specifically, Buddy explains the natural synergy between the two. “Of course, the other part of the holidays is about sweets. Everybody loves cake around the holidays, and we make cakes!” he laughed.
About The Salvation Army
The Salvation Army’s holiday assistance programs provide food, gifts, and other essential items to those in need during the holidays. Through initiatives like toy drives, meal distribution, and the Angel Tree program, they aim to ensure everyone gets to experience the joy of the holidays. During the 2024 holiday season alone, they provided assistance to nearly 2.5 million people throughout the county.
Besides purchasing a Give With Joy Red Velvet Cake or donating directly, anyone can support The Salvation Army through the Angel Tree Program. Participants can visit partner stores like Wal-Mart, take an Angel tag (which lists someone in need’s name, age, and desired gift), purchase the requested item, and drop both the gift and tag off at the in-store collection site.
