Yapple Yogurt Opens New Location in Haddonfield

Frozen yogurt is a popular dessert for kids and adults alike. Now, Yapple Yogurt is bringing its signature brand of FroYo – along with an assortment of toppings – to Haddonfield. The original location is still open in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, but Owner Aaron Lin is now serving frozen yogurt in Haddonfield.

Aaron grew up in nearby Mount Laurel and Moorestown, but now lives in Gloucester City. “I always loved hanging around Haddonfield,” he says. “It has been my dream for many years to run a dessert shop in this town.”

The 1,160-square foot Yapple Yogurt is “chill with cool continuous rainbow flowing lights and a unique mural,” Aaron says. The interior offers 12 seats for patrons, as well as bench seating along the walls. Seasonal outdoor seating is also available, weather permitting.

A Yapple A Day

Yapple Yogurt is all about frozen yogurt. The setup is simple: Patrons grab a cup, pick their flavors, add some toppings, then weigh and pay. In particular, the dessert shop offers 12 flavors, including two vegan/nondairy options and a no-sugar-added option. “These flavors are carefully curated to ensure the best flavor and consistency,” Aaron explains. Their menu of available flavors rotates often, but one mainstay is also Lin’s favorite; the original tart. “Our original tart is the closest concoction we could get to a plain yogurt flavor,” he adds.

Taro flavor is also a hit at Yapple Yogurt. Taro is a light purple root vegetable known for its buttery yet slightly sweet and creamy flavor. Aside from vegan, nondairy, and no-sugar added selections, many flavors are gluten-free as well. In fact, the label on each flavor notes if it contains gluten.

Of course, no frozen yogurt order is complete without toppings. At Yapple Yogurt, patrons can select from more than 50 toppings. These range from fruits and candies to healthy options such as chia seeds, flaxseeds, hemp hearts, and granola. But their most popular toppings are brownie bites, cookie dough, and “juice bursts” (aka popping boba). That latter comes in three flavors: strawberry, mango, and yogurt. Though they do not currently deliver, future plans include third-party delivery.

About Yapple Yogurt

The name Yapple Yogurt comes from a core idea of the business. “When we originally started the company, we wanted to do a froyo shop with fruit. Because back then a lot of the stores had candy, but not a lot of fruit options,” Aaron says. “We brainstormed a bunch of ideas and kept repeating them to see what would stick. Finally, out of over 15 names, Yapple was the only name my 3 year old niece remembered, so it stuck.”
