Organic juice and smoothie lovers have a new go-to destination in Jersey City. Juice Box is situated in the hallway leading to CKO Kickboxing and open to the general public. They use only fresh and organic ingredients in their juices and smoothies.
Juice Bar offers a bar and standing area indoors that seats eight to 10, plus outdoor tables for another eight. Owner Charles Taylor describes the space as “colorful, fun, and organic. From our logo to the name of our beverages, to sayings on the back of our shirts; we want to create a sense of fun while living a healthy lifestyle. Just because we are being healthy doesn’t mean we need to be boring.”

Thinking Outside the Box
The Juice Box menu features creative flavors like The Ultra Violet smoothie (acai, strawberry, blueberry, bananas, and almond milk). Other popular picks include the Butter Banana smoothie (almond butter, almond milk, bananas, and strawberries); Golden Glow juice (carrot, lemon, orange, pineapple, and turmeric); and 24 Carrots juice (ginger, carrot, orange, pineapple, and apple).
However, Charles says he has two favorites. The first is the Root Awakening (beet, carrot, celery, apple, orange, and ginger) after a morning workout. During afternoons, he prefers the Almond Joy smoothie (avocado, almond milk, almond butter, pink sea salt, cinnamon, and maple syrup).

The spot also works with the local community in various ways. For instance, they partner with several cafes and local shops around the area that carry their fresh-squeezed juices. In addition, their walls feature paintings and more from local artists. Art rotates every quarter as part of Jersey City’s Art Crawl. While there is no kids’ menu at Juice Box, they are testing kids’ juices and sizes for the near future. They also plan on offering delivery services in the future.
