Featured from Middlesex County:
Orchard Park by David Burke

Where: 670 Cranbury Rd, East Brunswick
Details: Orchard Park blends the best of David Burke’s other American restaurants in New Jersey into one signature menu. The marquee dishes center around his patented Himalayan sea salt dry-aged steaks (and yes, they are literally patented). Popular steak choices include the 8oz Filet Mignon and 12oz Dry-Aged New York Strip. Other signature steaks include the massive 34oz Dry Aged Porterhouse for Two and 20oz Dry Aged Ribeye. For an even more decadent meal, any steak dish can be enhanced with a lobster tail. They serve all steaks with housemade B1 sauce and offer a curated selection of wine pairings. In addition, their steak entrees pair perfectly with any mix of available sides. We recommend either the Spicy Lobster Mac and Cheese or Brussels Sprouts with vanilla bacon butter. But save room for desserts like their signature Cheesecake Lollipop Tree or an inventive cocktail like the Bittersweet Symphony. (Jack Daniel’s Bonded Rye, Averna, Cherry Bitters, Orange Bitter, Angostura Bitters, Cocchi di Torino.)

For a special treat, we recommend the 16oz slow-roasted Grilled Prime Rib with Herb Compound Butter. One thing that helps set The Old Causeway apart from other steakhouses is their selection of sauces. Patrons can pair any steak with options like Chimichurri, Caramelized Balsamic Onions, Horseradish Cream, Black Truffle Butter, and more. The restaurant boasts four signature steaks in particular, each with a unique name. For instance, The King’s Oscar is an 8oz Filet Mignon over asparagus with king crab meat in Bearnaise sauce. Other menu options include seafood towers, soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, and bar bites. We recommend the Lobster Poutine Fries as a starter, smothered in garlic gravy and fresh mozzarella curd. Live music on weekends and specialty cocktails round out an already impressive dining experience.

This pickup option offers 11 different cuts of meat, and they also sell box sets of steak knives.

Details: The official steakhouse of Rutgers Athletics, Steakhouse 85 is a modern take on classic American steakhouses. They use a black pepper, fresh herbs, and sea salt rub to flavor their dry-aged steaks. To cook them, steaks are seared on a 1200-degree cast iron grill and broiled as needed. Their dinner menu features salads, soups, a raw bar complete with chilled seafood towers, and of course, their signature steaks. Popular cuts include the 18oz Cowboy Ribeye, 12oz Filet Mignon, and 26oz Tomahawk Chop (encrusted with a garlic blue cheese rub.)
Strickland’s Steakhouse

But for those who need a little substance to match the style, their menu is equally enticing. Their popular sushi and raw bar features favorites like Wagyu Steak Tartare, oysters, and the Spicy Shrimp Tuna Roll. As for their selection of Elite Prime Dry-Aged Steaks, the spotlight shines on their Kansas City Strip and Ribeye. We recommend adding some Truffle Shiitake Butter to either, along with some Yukon Gold mashed potato.

Library II
Where: Voorhees
Details: There’s nearly a century of history related to the land where Library II now stands. First appearing as a restaurant named The Rafters in 1947, followed by The Saddle and Spur, each restaurant has been serving Voorhees since the town had a population of just 1,500. (It is now estimated at about 31,000 residents.) Now as Library II, they serve high-quality steaks alongside their signature butters. We recommend pairing their Prime Rib with Bernaise Butter, or the New York Strip with Gorgonzola Butter.
The Pub
Where: Pennsauken
Details: The Pub comes from the same owners as Library II, so it’s perhaps no surprise they both appear here. Similarly, its story also begins about a century ago in the 1930s. Surviving several incarnations and now operating simply as The Pub, the retro steakhouse is famous for its authentic charcoal hearth. This is where they cook an assortment of chicken, kebobs, lamb, pork chops, and steak. We recommend their unique Charbroiled Steakabob, which includes scallops, lobster meat, Gulf shrimp, mushrooms, and peppers.
