#1 in Hoboken:
Fiore’s House of Quality
Where: 414 Adams St #2693
Details: A staple of the community for more than 100 years, Fiore’s House of Quality is second-to-none. While not a traditional restaurant, there’s simply no food establishment like it. In addition to producing the freshest mozzarella in all of Hoboken, their sandwiches are renowned for their, well, quality. Locals line up outside the door to pick up their daily specials. These iconic sandwiches range from Corned Beef & Fresh Mozzarella to Sausage in Red Gravy. But we recommend their Monday special, the classic Virginia Ham with mozzarella.
#2 in Hoboken:
The Hoboken Biergarten
Where: 1422 Grand St
Details: For folks looking to find their next great hangout spot, The Hoboken Biergarten has it all. Unique cocktails and a wide selection of craft beers fill out the drink menu; while a spacious and dog-friendly outdoor patio — complete with Tiki Bar — offer a fun and friendly atmosphere. Special events like month-long Oktoberfest entertainment and weekly trivia nights keep things lively all year long. Meanwhile, the menu offers elevated bar favorites like Potato & Cheese Pierogis, General Tso’s Cauliflower, and Kielbasa in a Blanket.
#3 in Hoboken:
Blue Eyes Restaurant
Where: 525 Sinatra Dr
Details: It wouldn’t be a list of Hoboken’s best restaurants without at least one Frank Sinatra-themed spot on it. Blue Eyes is famous for its riverfront patio overlooking the Hudson, as well as their authentic wood-burning pizza oven. So authentic, in fact, that the bricks themselves were flown in from Naples, Italy to build it. For fans of true Napoletana pizza, there’s no better place in town. (We recommend the Diavola pie.) Fresh seafood, pasta, and traditional desserts like Tiramisu and Bomba round out the classic Italian menu.
#4 in Hoboken:
Grand Vin
Where: 500 Grand St
Details: Warm hospitality meets upscale cuisine at Grand Vin Kitchen & Bar. The atmosphere is sophisticated yet relaxed, emphasized by their Italian/American fusion menu. Small plates range from zucchini fries and calamari to eggplant rollatini and spicy clams oreganata. Dinner entrees include chicken, steak, and seafood, with highlights like the Pork Chop Milanese and Seafood Risotto. We absolutely recommend saving room for dessert, as their Lemon Ricotta Cheesecake and Hazelnut Chocolate Torta are simply must-trys.
#5 in Hoboken:
Elysian Cafe
Where: 1001 Washington St
Details: This popular French bistro features lunch, brunch, and dinner options. But what really makes the location so special is its longevity. Elysian Cafe is actually the oldest continuously operated building in Hoboken. It’s original incarnation, Dillenger & Jeffson’s, first opened in 1895. Since then, the space has been a hair salon, an ice cream parlor, and now the Elysian Cafe. The menu showcases classic French favorites like Poutine, Mussels & Pomme Frites, and French Onion Soup. For dinner, we recommend the Miso Glazed Salmon.
