Fans of authentic Vietnamese cuisine in the North Jersey area don’t have to travel far. Pho Express in Hoboken celebrates Vietnam’s rich culinary heritage with its signature selection of traditional dishes. The restaurant uses time-tested recipes and techniques to prepare each meal, including the classic Vietnamese soup, Pho.
Besides pho, which is known for its aromatic and flavorful broth, they serve other culinary delights. Popular menu items include takoyaki balls, vegetable spring rolls, Bun Cha, Banh Mi sandwiches, rice plates, and vermicelli bowls. Owner Tony Chen says the pho combo, pho brisket, and pho beef ball are all popular choices. But the pho combo in particular is his favorite dish on the menu. As for drinks, their Thai tea is a fan favorite choice.

Pho Express has been in a soft opening throughout January 2024. Their official grand opening on February 5 is a special occasion that includes lion dancing. The compact 1,200-foot spot can seat 16 guests inside as well as 16 more outside.
But it’s not just the dishes that are authentic to Vietnamese tradition, but their method or preparation as well. For instance, Pho Express serves their soup-based items in a fresh broth they cook daily for 14 hours. They source their high quality ingredients locally, ensuring freshness while also supporting local producers.
About the Restaurant
Including Pho Express, Tony runs 15 Asian restaurants across New Jersey and Long Island. He is also a YouTuber who runs the channel PlayCow, which has over 5.2 million subscribers to date.
Future plans include adding bubble tea to the menu. The restaurant further plans to utilize ecofriendly disposable bowls and utensils after the grand opening.
