New NJ Restaurants Opening this Fall

Fall is a season for change and trying out new things. Of course, going skydiving or hiking that extra challenging trail are both viable options; but those feeling adventurous in the more flavorful sense should know about the new restaurants opening this fall in NJ. With that in mind, here are some of the best new restaurants to try throughout the Garden state this season.

As a note to all of our South Jersey readers, we did our best to research new openings in the area but came up empty-handed. The Barrow House

Opening: October
Details: The Barrow House is bringing American farm fare and craft brews to Clifton this fall. Housed in a massive rustic space, The Barrow House offers the chance to take a break from North Jersey without actually going anywhere. With a completely unique menu of handmade items (even the butter is made in-house!), you’re guaranteed to find something delicious to go with your choice of crisp brew or cocktail!

City Perch Kitchen + Bar

City Perch

Location: 2023 Hudson Street, Fort Lee
Grand Opening: September 13
Details: City Perch specializes in serving up homegrown goodness. Award-winning Chef Sherry Yard has designed a custom menu that uses fresh, locally sourced ingredients to handcraft unique and delicious American dishes ranging from shrimp with grits to duck pizza and lobster. On top of that, Master Bartender and Sommelier Adam Seger was tapped to concoct a unique and original beverage menu. As an added bonus, the menu is seasonal so there’s always something new to look forward to.

Morris Tap & Grill

Morris TapLocation: 500 Route 10, Randolph
Opening: Thursday, October 6
Details: Morris Tap & Grill may already be a favorite spot to grab a craft beer and some delicious food, but the best is about to get even better. This October, Morris Tap & Grill is relaunching with a brand new bar area and a menu that will make you feel like you’re walking through a street fair, in a good way. The restaurant is aiming to become the spot to chow down on some food-truck inspired dishes while sampling some 50 beers on tap. This is definitely one to watch.

Ani Ramen House

Opening: Late October
Details: Ani is known for having some of the best ramen in Montclair, and now they’re bringing that highly-rated deliciousness to Jersey City. With rich broths and seasoned meats, these cooked-to-perfection noodles will have your taste buds singing. What’s better than a warm bowl of ramen in the fall? A warm bowl of ramen from the Ani Ramen House.

Horseneck Tavern

Horseneck Tavern Entrance

Location: 11 Bloomfield Avenue, North Caldwell
Grand Opening: September 22
Details: The Horseneck Tavern just started serving up some of the most sophisticated American meals in the area, mixed with a selection of classic barbecue dishes. For those who just can’t decide what to eat for dinner, the Horseneck Tavern offers shareable options; why choose between grilled lamb chops, steak frites or a cheeseburger when you can have all three? Pair all that with one of their handcrafted cocktails and you’ve got the perfect way to keep warm this fall.

The Taco Truck

(Re)Opening: October 14
Details: Hoboken’s top stop for fresh, authentic Mexican street food is about to get even better. The Taco Truck is closing its doors for one week and coming back with a whole new look on Friday, October 14. Previous fans have nothing to fear, however, as the menu which offers tacos, burritos, tortas and Mexican soda won’t be changing a bit. Taco fans can head to The Taco Truck on Friday, October 14 at Noon to kick off its new chapter with a DJ, food samples and plenty of tasty treats.

Addams Tavern

Addams Tavern

Location: 115 Elm Street, Westfield
Opening: Mid-October
Details: By the looks of it, Addams Tavern is going to be one beautiful place to grab some grub. With a custom Argentinian-inspired menu, you can be sure to find unique and delicious dishes at every turn. The best part? They’ll be cooked in Addams’ wood-burning grill. Those interested in being among the first to take a taste are encouraged to call ahead, as the timeline for opening is a bit tentative!

22 West Tap and Grill

22 West Bar

Location: 1601 Route 22 West, Bridgewater
Opening: Mid-November
Details: There’s already a ton of excitement and anticipation in the area for the arrival of 22 West Tap and Grill. Slated for a mid-November opening, 22 West is now hiring for all positions, looking for an excited staff to serve up their tap beers, cocktails and delectable dishes. Though no official word has come out about the menu, it’s looking like burgers are a definite part of the program; and you can’t go wrong with a fresh, quality hamburger.

Old Glory Kitchen + Spirits

Old Glory

Location: 84 Broad Street, Keyport
Opening: Soon!
Details: Old Glory describes itself as a “new American upscale style restaurant with a patriotic theme” – and the name definitely fits! While the opening date has not yet been finalized – their social media posts are currently using the #GrandOpeningComingSoon hashtag – Old Glory has been sharing some sneak peaks of their menu, and the choices are mouthwatering. Just take a look at their Buffalo chicken pizza (pictured above), even the chicken is cooked in their brick oven.

Margaritas Mexican Restaurant

Location: 270 Route 37 East, Toms River
Opening: Early fall
Details: With locations spread throughout the east coast, Margaritas is now opening its first New Jersey location in Toms River. Known for its authentic and fresh Mexican food, this spicy spot features margaritas, tacos and that fun fiesta feeling. The beautiful Mexican atmosphere inspires a feeling of stepping into a vacation, if only for a few hours.
