There is no shortage of Italian restaurants in New Jersey. But while many serve the tried and true classics, Limoncello Ristorante in Sewell puts a unique twist on each dish. According to Co-owner Ergys (Eric) Rakaj, the menu also changes every six months to focus on local, seasonal produce.
Patrons can expect traditional Italian cuisine such as homemade pastas and desserts, but with fresh flavors. The chefs at Limoncello Ristorante use fresh ingredients to create these familiar yet unexpected dishes. Inside, the restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and Mediterranean décor with natural colors. Guests will feel at home as they receive attentive service in a relaxed atmosphere.

A New Twist on Old Favorites
Popular menu items at Limoncello Ristorante include the fried calamari and their signature limoncello dishes. This includes veal limoncello and chicken limoncello, each with shrimp, crab meat, cherry tomatoes, and asparagus in sherry beurre blanc. They also serve a Filet branzino with crab meat and cherry tomatoes in a lemon white wine sauce.
Their pastas are all made in house and include the fan favorite pappardelle a modo mio. This dish mixes pappardelle and mushrooms in a short rib creamy ragu. Likewise, their desserts are all homemade, from the crème Brule (Eric’s favorite) to the tiramisu.
About the Restaurant
Limoncello Ristorante can seat 120 diners inside and 25 to 30 guests on the front sidewalk, weather permitting. They are also planning on adding a patio in the future, to expand their outdoor dining options.
Limoncello Ristorante is the fourth restaurant by the A Modo Mio family of restaurants. Their other eateries include A Modo Mio in Sea Isle City, La Finestra in Sea Isle City, and Il Posto in Avalon.
As for Eric, he has been working in the restaurant business since he was 16 years old. A Philadelphia native, he started out by first washing dishes before working his way up the ladder. He says that his favorite part of what he does is the people. “I love chit chatting with guests and learning their stories.”
