Kinya Ramen Brings Golden Sushi & Drinks to West Orange

The new Kinya Ramen Sushi Bar in West Orange prides itself on a one-of-a-kind, golden experience. The emphasis on gold comes from the name, as “Kinya” means gold in Japanese. To fully embrace their namesake, they work gold flakes into some of their food and drink options. This is all in an effort to give patrons “a golden time.”

The 3,700-square foot Kinya Ramen Sushi Bar features upscale and modern interior design and seats about 120 guests; of course, patrons will find plenty of gold accents throughout the restaurant. “After we found out that there isn’t much choice for ramen noodle restaurants in this area, we decided to open our own,” says Restaurant Manager Mavis. The team at Kinya has experience cooking with a master from Japan. “We pride ourselves on the meaning of our name, gold. Gold is fine, pure, and unmatched by any other metal. That is the experience we are giving customers every time they eat here,” Mavis explains.

A Golden Menu

As the name implies, Kinya Ramen Sushi Bar boasts both sushi and ramen dishes. In particular, they infuse their ramen with a rich, creamy, and flavorful broth. Their signature presentation is the Kinya Experience, which offers two dishes and a beverage all with 24K gold inside. This meal includes Kinya ramen in pork broth with fish cake, scallions, bean sprouts, a seasoned boiled egg, and more; the Kinya roll (shrimp tempura with avocado inside topped with spicy tuna, salmon, mango, tobiko, eel and spicy sauce); and the Kinya old fashioned (a cocktail with whisky, sugar, and bitters, as well as cherry). All three items incorporate gold flakes into their preparation.

Selection of Sushi Rolls

However, Mavis says her favorite menu items are the pork buns and soy garlic wing appetizers. She also loves the Kinya Ramen and chicken chashu bowl as entrees. Finally, for cocktails, she enjoys the Mango Mai Tai, Passion Lover, and Lychee Martini.
