If you can’t decide between classic American dinners and homemade Italian dishes, we’ve got good news; Hearth Tavern is a new restaurant and bar now open in Garfield that blends the best of both worlds. The 1,500-square foot space seats 80 for dinner, 10 at the bar, and 40 on their outdoor patio. Despite the COVID-19 crisis, they have big plans for indoor dining and entertainment.
The first thing you’ll notice while eating indoors is the dining room looks directly into the wood-fired pizza station. Future plans include hosting events like wine tastings, trivia, tap takeovers, UFC fights, and more, says owner Frank J. Vuono. “We want to give people a place where they can relax; and not have to worry about what is going on in the world today,” he says.

Don’t know where to begin? Vuono says the wings are already a big hit with patrons. They freshly cook their wings with a crispy outside and then toss them in a special seasoning. Of course, you get a choice of sauces – bbq, buffalo, teriyaki, and sweet chili – to pair with your wings. After that, some of their best entrees include skirt steak, spaghetti and meatballs, and penne vodka.
But that’s not all, as Hearth Tavern offers 10 signature 12-inch wood-fired pizzas. These unique pies offer something to match every flavor palate; for instance, the Chicken Cutlet Ranch pizza includes chicken cutlet, bacon, cheddar, mozzarella, and Ranch dressing. Meanwhile, the Bruschetta Pizza offers grilled chicken, sliced tomatoes, red onions, and mozzarella over pesto. The bar at Hearth Tavern features about 21 bottles of wine. In addition, beer rotates regularly from their 12 taps which always include some type of IPA or DIPA. Basic brands like Coors, Budweiser, and Miller are also available in bottles and cans. Click here to see the full drink menu.
