Gass & Main Brings New American Meals to Haddonfield

The words Gass & Main likely mean little to the average person. But for the owners of the New American BYOB restaurant of the same name in Haddonfield, they are deeply meaningful. That’s because they are the cross streets where the couple greeted their wedding party before getting married in Las Vegas.

Gass & Main replaces Valente’s Cucina in a cozy space that seats 34 inside and eight outside, weather permitting. Interior décor includes photos of Chef and Owner Dane DeMarco’s family; as well as tools collected by and gifted to them by DeMarco’s father.

A Rotating Menu

The New American menu focuses on seasonal dishes, and completely changes every three months. But no matter what’s on the menu, the focus is always on local, sustainable ingredients for brunch, lunch, and dinner. In fact, they source absolutely everything from within the United States.

Popular menu picks include the Cheeseball; with Wisconsin burrata, green goddess pesto, toasted almonds, an assortment of shaved spring radish, balsamic, and grilled bread. Likewise, their Charm City Brussels Sprouts are a big hit. For something different, check out their Ants On A Log. This dish contains chicken liver mousse, celery hearts, and brandied cherries.

The entrees at Gass & Main typically include funky and elevated plays on traditional fare. For instance, their take on mac n cheese uses truffled gnocchi, mornay, and lemon herb breadcrumbs. Meanwhile, “The World’s Best Hot Dog” uses Snake River Wagyu beef, housemade sweet heat mustard, pickled celery, and pickled shallot.

About the Owner

Chef Dane and their spouse, Sierra Lander, live in nearby Audubon. Previously in Philadelphia, the coupled moved in 2020 to be closer to family. They are no strangers to Haddonfield, however, as they would frequently visit the town’s many restaurants. So choosing the town as the location for Gass & Main just made sense.

Business Logo

Dane has been a chef in the area for over 20 years; first spending 12 years at Gaetano’s in Willingboro and then at various restaurants throughout Philadelphia. They couple also own BurgerTime (a fast casual gourmet burger spot) in Audubon.
