Doozie’s Place Serves a Side of Sunshine in Ocean City

It isn’t much of a doozy to decipher the meaning behind the name at Doozie’s Place. The breakfast and lunch spot is simply named after Owner Devon Raab. “Almost every person in my life calls me Doozie—family, friends, schoolteachers growing up, coaches, etc.” she says.

Devon says the warm and inviting space seats 40, with “an awesome vibe inside and out” and surf-inspired interior. Outside of the restaurant, patrons can enjoy cornhole, sidewalk chalk, benches, and umbrellas. Meanwhile, the inside boasts bright walls, paintings from local artists, and surfboards hanging from the ceiling. The design is meant to “radiate that pure Ocean City vibe,” as Devon says. Tourists and locals alike are welcome, and should know that ‘All orders are served with a side of sunshine.’

Breakfast and Lunch Delights

Doozie’s Place offers breakfast and lunch menus, and creates original takes on many traditional favorites. For instance, they make homemade pop tarts with seasonal jams and a sweet icing smear, and many different specialty pancakes. Devon’s favorite menu item is the Seabright Omelet. This comes with roasted red peppers, turkey bacon, mozzarella cheese, fresh homemade pesto drizzle, and avocado slices.

Their Campfire Pancakes are like a s’mores breakfast with chocolate chips, graham cracker crumbs, and marshmallow drizzle. The Sweet Tooth Pancakes have strawberries, Fruity Pebbles, and a marshmallow drizzle. Not sure what flavors to try? Order a pancake flight and select three different pancakes.
