Though small in stature, the 1,000-square-foot Cruz-Missile Hot Dogs is big on flavor. Owner Reinaldo “Ray” Cruzado Jr. lives nearby, and wants to serve his friends and neighbors the best hot dogs around. Prior to opening the business, Ray and his wife Gina first operated a hot dog cart in the 1990s.

Cruz-Missile Hot Dogs boasts a 1950s retro vibe and seats patrons 12 inside. They also offer sidewalk seating during warm weather. Signature menu items include hot dogs and pinchos (the latter is skewers of beef, grilled chicken, or grilled pork). In fact, they are the first business in New Jersey to serve Snap-O-Razzo Hot Dogs. This American-owned brand makes custom hot dogs with a casing that offers a satisfying “snap” with every bite.
Ray loves the namesake Cruz-Missile Hot Dog. This house special includes hot chili, spicy cooked onions, jalapenos, and spicy mustard. Other specialty hot dogs include the Taco Dog and the Cuban Dog. The former features a Thumann’s hot dog with either mild or hot chili, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, and jalapenos. The HBLT is another favorite, with bacon, lettuce, tomato, and mayo. Finally, the Texas BBQ Dog also also a popular pick.
But Cruz-Missile Hot Dogs serves more than just hot dogs and pinchos. They also have jumbo wings – with sauces including Buffalo garlic butter – mozzarella sticks, and natural-cut fries. Other popular items include Cuban sandwiches, Jibarito (plantain) sandwiches, and smash burgers (double beef patties with, cheese, onions, and pickles).
