Crab Du Jour Brings Fun Seafood Dishes to Cherry Hill

One of the newest restaurants in Cherry Hill is Crab Du Jour, a seafood spot with a focus on fun. As the name implies, fresh crabs are the star of the show, and patrons shouldn’t be shy about getting messy. In fact, digging in hands-first is just part of the experience, and a great bonding activity for families; one the restaurant loves to see.

Those familiar with the name will know Crab Du Jour is a successful seafood chain restaurant; it has a footprint across 15 states primarily along America’s East Coast. However, the Cherry Hill location features a new craft cocktail menu and expanded food menu with new options. The friendly and welcoming atmosphere is “fun and nautical inspired,” according to Charlie Wyder; general manager of the Cherry Hill location.

For instance, they have an 85-by-192 inch TV wall behind the bar, which is perfect for game day. Meanwhile, the 7,000-sq ft restaurant can seat around 250 guests inside, with year-round outdoor dining coming soon as well. “Our outdoor tables could provide a perfect setting for boil sharing,” Charlie adds.

Food Time is Fun Time

Crab Du Jour embraces the messy nature of eating fresh seafood, and encourages guests to have fun. “We love to see the joy of parents teaching their kids how to use the crab pick; dates sharing a laugh as they try on bibs; and groups connecting over a meal that is more than just food, it’s an experience,” Charlie explains. In particular, their marquee menu items are their seafood boils.

Crab Du Jour Cocktails

“We’re known for fresh seafood boils submerged in an array of signature house-blended sauces,” says Charlie. For example, their signature dish is the Cajun seafood boil. Patrons order a half or full pound of their seafood of choice to mix and match. Next, they choose a sauce from options such as garlic butter, Cajun, lemon pepper, Old Bay, or Du Jour special; then a spice level of either mild, medium, or hot. Finally, it’s time to add in sides including corn, sausage, potatoes, and broccoli. Optional add-on pairings include Cajun fries, rice, or pasta. Crab Du Jour serves each boil in a bag that traps steam, which they shake and open at the table.

As for those new menu items, the Cherry Hill location offers bourbon steak and chicken as well as poke nachos; in addition to grilled options including salmon, lobster, tilapia, catfish, jumbo shrimp, and scallops. Plus, they offer non-traditional options like Cajun wings, burgers, hush puppies, po’boys, fried pickles, and cheesesteak eggrolls. Click here to see the full menu.

Nautical Cocktails

The cocktails at Crab Du Jour are also sea-themed. Some of their popular options include the Tipsy Mermaid, with coconut rum, lime juice, pineapple juice, and blue curacao; as well as the Swedish Fish, with rum, grenadine, watermelon juice, and lemonade. Other current favorites include the Giggly Guppy and Skinny Seal. They also serve local draft beer from nearby breweries.
